oh man, this is a really trying time for the Mickelson family (been there). I hope everything works out for the best.

That's terrible! All my prayers and thought go out to the Mickelson family!

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

Is breast cancer genetic? I know his wife and mother aren't related by blood, but I wonder if it means his kids have to be super on the lookout for this sort of thing.

Of course, I feel bad for his mother with this new information. I hope both Mary and Amy caught it early enough that they may treat it.

Yes and yes, they may be predisposed to the condition.

This is really sad, and almost unbelievable. Right after Amy's surgery, his Mom now has to have it done. Our best wishes and prayers to the entire family.

When it rains it pours ... luckily this family has the best of medical treatment available to it. Breast cancer is one of the more dangerous cancers and far too many die from it simply because they didn't have average medical care.

I know Phil's golf game isn't too important in light of all this, but I think he'll have a renewed perspective when this is done with, and will be even better.
