Same here, even though the IT guys at work give me grief for it!

Not directing this at you (or anyone else for that matter), so please don't take it that way

I'll be the first to say that Firefox is nice, although IMO Opera is superior, but as an administrator/infrastructure engineer, from a support standpoint, all of them suck the big one compared to IE. Yes, 6 was awful, but 7 & 8 have made improvements, and they have made strides to adhere to more standards. Still not quite there, but it has gotten somewhat better. Still, case in point, we had an issue going on where, after implementing some mandated security standards, our corporate intranet homepage was prompting users for their credentials in both Firefox and IE. I knew what the fix was immediately, and for IE, using Active Directory Group Policy, I was able to implement that fix in less than 5 minutes. 15 minutes later, the problem was resolved for 2500 machines site-wide. Unfortunately, for Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, and many others, it's not quite so easy. Telling some of the people here to go to about :config and change network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris would be equivalent to asking them to translate the Magna Carta. Another alternative is asking support personnel to go touch each individual machine and make the required changes. That's about as much fun as stapling your bits and pieces to a burning building. So my point is when your support people at work look down on people using a 3rd party browser, it's not to be jerks, there is actual reasoning behind it -end of rant And to answer the OP, I use IE7/8, Firefox 3.5.6, and Opera 10.10. I refuse to use Chrome Each of them has their advantages on different pages, and I've got it down to a science as far as which one to use on which page. As I said above, Opera probably is my favorite, but I normally have all of them running at the same time, and switch through pretty regularly. I'm happy with all of them, but if Adobe would put out a 64-bit version of Flash, I'd be very happy!

Firefox, almost exclusively. Occasionally I'll bring up Safari if I think there's a problem with FF and a particular website, but that has been occurring less and less of late.

I use IE 7/8, FF, Safari, Chrome and Lynx.

When I specifically want to use FF extensions, like Greasemonkey, I use FF.

When I use a Mac or iPhone, I go with Safari, although sometimes I like Chrome.

When I'm on an underpowered machine, I like Chrome or when I'm using some form of Google App, I use Chrome as well - it seems a little zippier.

When I work, I use IE 7/8.

When at the command line, sometimes Lynx, a text based browser.

One more thing. Many good and useful extensions/add-ons are free or reasonably priced for FF. On Safari, you usually have to pay and usually more than FF extensions. For example, I have a free page capture FF extension. Works great. On Safari, something like Snapper costs $10 and isn't as seemless as the FF extension.

I've tried a heap of browsers over the years but I keep coming back to Firefox. Kind of a hog on my netbook, but its so convenient and comfortable. Gave up on IE and Microsoft a while ago, now a dedicated Linux guy.

I used to use Firefox, but it didn't work to well on my old laptop. I would try to force quit it and open a new window if it froze, but it kept telling me it was already open and wouldn't let me open a new window. So i started using Chrome, and i use a little Flock to which is made by Mozilla, so it is basically a stripped down Firefox.

Firefox. Can't stand the steaming pile of poo that is Internet Explorer. Don't like that one from Google. Haven't tried anything else.

    • It's from "Every Shot Has a Purpose" which was co-written by one of Annika's coaches. Decent read about reducing uncertainty and committing to the golf shot.
    • Ah, I didn't realize this was about standing over the ball versus time to play the shot. Definitely two different things there. Yea I would imagine being static over the ball/taking a long time over the ball does make things worse in the long run, hence all the waggles guys will do before pulling the trigger.
    • I'm not sure who said it first but I've seen it a lot. There's this "think box" vs "play box" theory. I've also seen it with a planning vs doing line on the ground. The idea is basically you stand away from the ball (a couple feet) and do your "think box". This is where you do your planning, your swing cues, your practice swings (if you believe in practice swings.) All of that is done in the "Think Box". Then you step into your "play box" address the ball and hit it. Sometimes it's done with a imaginary line on the ground. You do all of the think box stuff behind the line. Then once you cross the line you step up and hit it.  Here's Annika Sorenstam demonstrating the "Think box" and "Play box": So, Annika's time over the ball is really short. Because she did all of that other stuff not over the ball, but in her "Think box".  There are lots of variations on this theme. But I think you get the idea.
    • I speak for myself. If I inventory my swing thoughts, swing tempo, optimum muscle tension and rehearse a swing before I take my address, then I pull the trigger reasonably quickly with usually acceptable results. Like a proper program download before deploying it. If I don't bother to by forgetting or just not caring, I am inclined to look for my cues while hovering over the ball after taking the address, while tension builds up and then I fire with a half ass program that is still buffering. I guess that's no better than rolling a dice. In other words, a good pre-shot routine does wonders. I am not advising folks to take 13 practice swings while the flowers wilt waiting for something to happen, but one or maybe two are reasonable and good for you. I am certain hitting half ass shitty shots and making double bogey takes longer than making a par.  My desire this year is to just that as I have not developed a habit taking a practice swing and as a result have tendency to freeze over the ball after address, that is counter productive for both time and result. I think that is what @saevel25 is talking about in the OP.
