I'm not quite rooting against anyone, but I just got very excited when I saw, for the first time, that Ryuji Imada is back inside the top 100.

Of course, fate is completely out of his hands at the moment. He's one of my favorite players, and, I believe, the top-ranked seed (90 to start the playoffs) without a top-10 during the season. I blame that on the lack of the TPC Sugarloaf tournament this year.

(I feel bad posting two consecutive times in a thread, but this makes more sense as a second post than editing my post from an hour or so ago.)


1. Tiger 3-putted the par-3 fourth. We've seen that before.

2. I just heard one of the announcers say that these yardage books have more arrows in them than Custer saw. One of the funniest things I've heard said on TV in a long while. Did anyone catch who said it? It almost sounds like a McCord-ism.

I missed that one earlier. That's pretty funny though. I may be the only one, but watching Marino makes me nervous! He's so fidgety, prior to his shot. Of course, who am I to talk, I suck, and he's on TV, contending...

Just saw Tiger's second shot on the drivable par-4 16th. Great chip - he has a very short birdie left. I'm a bit sorry to say that my first thought was that Y.E. Yang would have holed it from there

Though it looks like Tiger won't make it this week either, it's impressive how he come back time and time again. Must be frustrating though to finish so close to the win two tournaments in a row.

Not over yet. How cool would it be with a playoff with those at 8:

Tiger Woods, Padraig Harrington, Ernie Els, Heath Slocum, Steve Stricker.

Jacobson in a spot now. If it's Stricker or Slocum, I'm rooting for Steve!

      Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.

      Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.

      Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.

      The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.

      I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
