You have to love the Gaelic and Welsh languages.  I cannot even begin to try and pronounce some of the words.  Reminds me of a line from a Python skit.  "Its spelled Raymond Luxury Yacht, but it is pronounced 'Throat Warbler Mangrove."

Someone at work gave me this today, so I left early.

Haven't seen that in a while. Used to go cloudy in the bottle/glass if cold from what I remember. Nice.

Try some Campbeltown if you get the chance - peaty but not explosive like Islay can be. Their 10 y/o Springbank was very good as I recall. Not had the chance to try their peaty Longrow stuff but here's hoping for some day...

Can I get some recommendations from my American cousins? Not so long ago, discovered rye whiskey as opposed to typical 'bourbon' we tend to see in the U.K. Now, IMO, the pure rye stuff is orders of magnitude better than the often too sweet Jack Daniels type of stuff so I'm looking for some (not too expensive!) ryes to try out. All suggestions gratefully received...

After reading a couple of these threads lately, BC and Long Game, I need a drink!

For a starter kit, I prefer Aberlour

Ablerlour 10 is typically inexpensive and good.

I drank Abunad'h when my ex and I would drink together -- still didn't save the marriage.

Thank goodness in many ways.

Aberlour is my favorite scotch although I typically go for the 12. I've tried some of the smokier ones like Bowmore, and they just aren't for me.

Scotch is wonderful.  Beer is wonderful. Bourbon is wonderful.  Drunkenness is wonderful.  But alas, I have had a terrible year with Gout.  Been totally on the wagon for a few months now.  Hopefully I'll be able to take it up to some degree again in the coming months.  I miss it so.

Probably, usually do on Fri night. Though I had 3 really good martini's last night so maybe not.

Went for an early happy hour last night after work. Several cream ales and a handful of whiskey shots. Two bottles of red wine later on at dinner with the wife. Didn't make it to work today. Must have been something I ate. :-P

Anyone else enjoying the drink tonight?

I had a LaBatt Blue Light as a perfect compliment with my London broil and baked potato w/ broccoli. Does that count?

I may have a Southern Comfort Manhattan a little later, too.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
