Excellent Taiwanese whisky.

Really, Tawain? When did they get licensed to make Whisky? I thought only Scotland, Japan and Canada had the right (appellation contrôlée) to make whiskey as opposed to whisk e y? EDIT: just googled a bit, my mistake, the whisky/whiskey designation is not the "appellation contrôlée", it's the "Scotch" Whisky designation.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Scotch and Bourbon are controlled. And it's spelled Taiwan. :-)

Right. I had a brain fart and was thinking the whisky without an "e" was the distinction for "scotch". Still, when did Taiwan get that designation? I'd Google again, but I've had too much Scotch.

Not sure, but I'm assuming very recently. I did a quick search, and apparently this distillery is the first whisky distillery in Taiwan. I really want to get my hands on some though.

Interesting. The only "Scotch" I've ever encountered is from Scotland (duh), Japan and Canada. To my knowledge there is only one Canadian single malt Scotch. It's called Glen Breton and it was pretty disappointing when I tried it, although, to be fair, it was at least a decade ago and it was their first run of batches so they may have improved. The bottle I had was an 8 year old which, I believe at the time was their most aged offering. It was meh... I've had some fantastic Japanese Scotch.

I'm mostly a beer guy myself but recently have been relaxing with some scotch or whiskey.  Didn't really know the connection between whisky, whiskey, rye and bourbon before.  This video though gave me a bit of an intro and now I'm appreciating and enjoying them all more.  Odd how knowing more about a drink sometimes make you enjoy it more.  Check it out if you're new to this type of liquor.  You might have to copy and past the link into your browser.

Had a few gin and tonics, probably follow that up with too much wine.

It's a fine evening in Ohio. I went out on my porch to drink 2-3 beers.

Now, 11 beers later, I'm still going.

It's become very popular very quick. We sell a ton of it in our bar. Can't keep it in stock. It certainly does taste like Root Beer. But it's way too sickly sweet to drink more than 1. Also, it's rumored to be 480 calories per 12oz bottle!!

It is very sweet, that is for sure, I thought that if you mix with whip cream flavored vodka, it would taste like a root beer float.

I personally like MGD, or Bud Lite Platinum. $15 for a 18/20 pack. However,  We have a little place just down the road that offers free Long Island Teas, and other adult beverages to video machine players. They even have a shuttle to haul us home  should we over indulge.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
