Nah, I'd give you some sturdy competition. Picked the game up about three months or so ago. Still can't tell if I'm going to hit fat, thin, left, right, high, low, at all, etc... On my best day, I can blast a mean 45* pull hook.

You know you suck when you have to warn people standing behind your back that they could very well be in the danger zone.

It's all about confidence. You need to practice your sand shots. Actually, it's one of the simplest once you have enough confidence and practice.

Hit about 1" (2.5 cm for your metric friends) behind the ball and skim (NOT dig into) the sand. The amount of back swing dictates the distance and you should ALWAYS have a full follow through. Generally, picture the distance from the sand to the target as twice as long (on a fairway wedge shot) and make your back swing accordingly. So if you have 10 yds (~9 meters) to the target from the bunker, the amount of your back swing should be as if you are hitting 20 yds (18 meters) from the fairway.

After a few practice, you'll find it is one of the easiest shots.

My back nine yesterday could get me in the running for worst golfer ever. 54, after a 42 on the front.

Liquid swing lubricant isn't for everyone. Anytime I have a sip of that stuff on the course, my game goes to hell. But I know many people who I play regularly with who require a Bloody Mary or two on the second or third hole before they loosen up.

Liquid swing lubricant

You got that right. I enjoy a frosty beverage, and I enjoy the beverage on the course, but I'm not breaking 90 on a day that I drink.

Now a 54 after a 42!? That's like 2 different golfers!

I shot a 60 on the front one day and a 45 on the back. My swing was gone so on the back I just started taking half swings and it worked out. a 105 was still pretty terrible though

I think I'm in the running right now. I just posted 2 of my worst scores this year back to back. Actually only 2 scores over 84 this year and in a row, 91 and a 96. It feels like I've never picked up a club before. The only thing I was hitting flush were my driver and putter. Everythign else was just wasting more and more strokes.

I hear you..I posted a 93 2 weeks ago. Granted it was in a tournament, but I felt like I had completely forgotten how to swing a club! By far my worst score of the year.

We can all play pretty badly unless you're like this scratch & + HC's. For example at Crystal springs I went out shooting a 38, but came in shooting a 49...a 49! GROSS!

I use to be in the same boat with sand shots. Lately though I've been making some nice shots out of the sand. All I've done is open the face of my SW and trust the shot. Nearly holed one out yestarday.

Now Cussin Hacker and Yukari are definitely the front runners for either sarcasm or posting in the wrong thread....not sure which exactly
