What's the softest golf ball to use?

I found the callaway tour i's gave much more spin than a pro V1
Only problem is they get torn up pretty easy

I will agree with you that the Callaway ball's cover does damage easy, but that is why it spins so well. I find complaining about a balls cover being to fragile when you looking for a high performance spin ball is like complaining the ultra high grip tires on a sports car don't last long. If your looking for a compromise ball look in the 25 to 29 dollar range. There are plenty of good balls in that range that will not show much cover damage after a round of golf. I personally like the Nike Tour D spins good enough to back up on full shots and check up on pitch shots.

I love the Srixon Z-Star. I am a fan of the Srixon Soft Feel as well. Precept Laddie X is a less expensive soft ball. But the Srixon Soft Feel is ... well, soft

Oh, I forgot, Pinnacle has a "Feel" (soft) ball that got rave reviews in a golf mag I read a few months back. The Topflite Gamer got great reviews as well. The same article mentioned the Srixon Soft Feel also as a top soft ball. All these are in the $20 range which is nice.

nike platinums are the highest spinning according to a study last year.if you can find them

yeah, these are great balls. they held up really well too, i can play a whole round with them and they dont show that much damage, not like pro vs that scuff after the first wedge you hit with them...

Up until 2 days ago, I'd say Pro V1, but I got a sleeve of Callaway Tour Ix's as a gift, havent hit them yet, but OMG are they soft to the touch. Its almost rediculous how soft they are, I really dont even want to hit them...

Sounds like you want spin, and a durable cover?? Ever thought about the Titleist NXT tour? Even the Bridgestone e5+, urethane cover, but I havent cut one up yet...

I've found the Nike One Tour to be quite durable and has awesome spin and feel.

I remember Golf Digest's issue with the ball comparisons and to my recollection there was not a ball that spun more than the Nike One Tour or Titleist Pro-V1(they spun about the same), but the One Tour launched a little higher.

It's not about "most spin". It's about optimized spin for YOUR game.

I like the Titleway ProTour V1ix.

Really? I tried one and scuffed it just by hitting a short pitch shot.

Well I'm looking for 2 things.

1. A ball that gives loads of spin (how long it can last doesn't matter)

2. A ball that gives a lot of spin and can stand a round.

Srixon Soft Feel... When A Puffs Just Won't Do.

I keep finding scuffs on my balls and am beginning to believe it is my Spin Milled 60* but I have yet to back up a ball. Will a tree scuff a ball?
