This is really shocking news to me, Tiger is a man that is always so in control of everything around him. As for the rumoured affair it is the National Enquirer but his lawyer released a statement saying that Tiger and this woman had met in the club. Not a very smart thing to do.

Maybe Elin tampered with the SUV, then sent him on a made up errand!?!?!

Evidently Tiger is human. My friend's husband took out their garage door after a middle of the night row. My husband and I have a punching bag in the basement, very good for getting out the anger.

I just read on msnbc that Elin smashed the back window of the SUV with a golf club and pulled Tiger out. Something does not add up here . . how does he crash his SUV pulling out of his driveway, going so slowly that the airbags don't even deploy and then have to pulled out, fading in and out of consciousness?

Clearly what must've happened is that Elin learned about Tiger's romantic misdeeds and a huge fight ensued. She ended up chasing him out of the house with a golf club. She caught him at the driveway and WHAM, she hit him in the face, giving him lacerations and knocking him halfway to silly-town. Then they decided to make up, perhaps for the sake of thier daughter, and stage the fake accident.

As long as we're making stuff up, that's what I'm going with.

Well this could be the beginning of the end of Tiger's billionaire status. A divorce would leave him with a measly 1/2 billion.

He wasn't wearing his seat belt. I'm pretty sure that's what ESPN just said anyway. I've seen someone break a nose going 5 mph since she wasn't wearing her seat belt. His car apparently needs to go like 30 mph for the air bags to go off (again, according to ESPN). Maybe he was getting baby formula for his kid. The younger one is still under a year old, right? And babies need formula for a year I think. So, that could be it. Who knows? He'll probably have a press conference soon to explain everything.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what the National Enquirer says :P

i dont know. they dont get sued as often as they used to, thats for sure. and that can only mean one thing: most of the stuff they print nowadays is true, lol (i heard that on one of the E Television news shows)

So according to the fine, upstanding, Windermere police department, Tiger's wife, Elin, heard the crash outside their mansion and had the wherewithal to wisely grab a golf club before she ran out the door just in case she happened upon an emergency situation. (In Sweden, golf clubs are the Jaws of Life.) Luckily she did — because who knows what would have happened to Tiger had she not acted so quickly. Remember — he ran over a fire hydrant. He could have sat there all night, with serious-not-serious facial lacerations and possibly drowned. That's why she smashed the back window of the SUV — the gallons of water violently gushing into the vehicle could have killed him instantly had she gone through the front windshield or tried to, you know, get Tiger to unlock the driver's side door. She needed to climb through the back, grab her 200lb. husband by the collar and drag him to safety. Time was of the essence.

Think about it.

Tiger and Elin have always been a very very private couple, this must be hard on them. If they quarrelled at least he had the sense just to leave the house and blow off some steam, not beat her up like Chris Brown did to Rhianna.

The speculation is already being made of trouble in the marriage with another woman named Ashley being reported as the reason for the difficulties. Check out NY Post , sportbybrook.com and Hollywood gossip rags for details. Hope he is okay and Ashley is delicious but half of everything? No thanks.

    • Yeah, I get that they've changed the lofts. It matters not to me, So long and I play old sticks I don't need a gap wedge and so long as I know how far each club works--the numbers on the bottom are irrelevant. My irons/approach game is blades and there's where it'll stay unless someone wants to sponsor me to play their stuff (I'm open to options, but not expecting any business in that regard!😄 I just smashed a nasty old ball out across the pasture as my last shot in practice tonight. I hit balls every day when I'm into it-mostly short stuff for those up and downs and other such necessities It's coming back. I've got to set up a net for more full-swing stuff in the back yard. I tried the Ping stuff back in the olden days and it just left me flat. Bad hits made acceptable and good hits flew nice but the feel was about the same. I never tried to work the ball with them I just could'ntt handle the non-communication/connection to my hands. Never bought a set and got used to that sort of game. I was content beating the old guys with whatever they were swinging.  One of the best in my dad's group hit those silly looking Browning 440's!   They sure worked for him.  My pop had the Ping Eye2's and I forget what before, but he never beat me at golf after I turned 16-despitei being a weekly player.  His game was more in the beer and the bets. I tried working with him but he would never practice--had a horrible reverse weight shift thing going on. We made videos--on VHS!   Thanks for the info. I know I lack a lot of familiarity with some of our new tech points and parameters, but as far as GI irons go, It's all moot for me. I'm catching up, but really I'm more interested in getting my fitment proper (making the adjustment to midsize grips now) and getting back into the groove where -most- of the time I get a solid contact and a flight resembling what I designed in my mind for the situation at hand.  I do hit the modern drivers (2013 modern) and woods, but that too is more about feel and styling than ultimate performance or adjustability.  I think I would do well to do try some different shafts to see what suits me.  I like the "pro" versions of the bigfat-longhandled modern drivers, because it's not quite so gigantic. I hit my ancient TaylormMade Tour Burner at TopGolf the other night. It's still a fine club.
    • When someone suggests that a rule should be different, the first test in my mind is whether the change is an improvement, or just a change.  There are lots of issues where there may be a personal preference to one side or the other, but neither is demonstrably better.  You've expressed a preference, but I can't say you've shown it to be better to have a choice.  Indeed, minimizing potential confusion and pace of play issues is, in my opinion, an advantage to the current system.  I definitely don't see an advantage to the "choice" system that more than offsets the advantages included in the current system.
    • The chorus of this song is an earworm.
    • I've got: 3W 19-degree hybrid or 20-degree utility iron Iron set starts at 4-iron Reasons: I don't really think too deeply about gapping with my long clubs (as long as the distances aren't overlapping or bunched). I am not a good enough ball striker to need more than ballpark distances for gapping with fairway woods/hybrids/utility irons (I do care about gapping with irons/wedges though). 3W: I don't use my 3W that often, and I could probably leave it home and not notice. It is in the bag for 240+ yard approach shots like a 2nd shot into par-5, but my home course has relatively short par-5, so this is not common. Sometimes I will tee off with 3W just to make sure I get at least one or two swings with it a round. If I am playing away from my home course, I use 3W more often. 19-deg hybrid: Until recently, a hybrid was always my go-to club for tee shots on mid-length par-4 (say 380 yards or less), or just when driver is squirrely. I also like having this club for 220-230 yard approach shots, usually on a par-5. For whatever reason, I've always felt confident with a hybrid in hand on the tee - like I am going to keep the ball in play, and set myself up for a successful approach shot (not sure if my stats back this up or not though). 20-deg utility iron: Recently put this in the bag, at expense of the hybrid. The hybrid flies further, but I feel like my misses with long iron/utility iron are less severe than with hybrid/fairway wood type heads. Example, when I hit a pull with a hybrid or fairway wood, it is usually a pull draw, and ends up left of left. But when I hit a pull with a long iron/utility iron, there seems to be less curve in the miss, and the ball stays in play (this is completely anecdotal and I'm not sure if stats back it up). Still seeing how I feel about hybrid vs. utility iron and which one I'll end up keeping.
