  1. 1. Have your hopes about Tiger beating Jack's record changed?

    • I still hope he eclipses Jack's 18 Majors.
      21
    • I used to hope he'd beat Jack, but now I hope he doesn't.
      5
    • Didn't want him to overtake Jack before and still don't.
      9
    • I'm happy for this record to be about golf, not personality.

Where do you stand now with regard to your hopes for what Tiger might achieve?

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I've never been a Tiger person fan. I've seen too much from him on the course that makes me roll my eyes. I also heard a couple of stories from instructors at Butch Harmons golf school that make me even less impressed. And now the latest with his disregard for his wife and family. Ho-hum. So, I'm not an adoring fan and would not even go out of my way to watch him at a tournament.

That said, I hope he continues to live up to his potential career-wise and I am sure he will break Jack's record in a few years.

Don't really mind if he does it or not. From a distance, Jack seems like a nicer person than Tiger, more time for fans etc.But Tiger obviously has the talent to surpass Jack, and if he has the will and determination to do it, then fair play to him.

That said, I think Tiger will easily do it.Think about it.Tiger's almost 34.That means he has at least 16 years left on tour providing he stays injury-free. 4 majors every year, so 4 x 16 = 64 chances at Major wins.I personally think he'll finish his career with between 23 and 25 majors.

Unless I'm completely underestimating the current situation and he decides to take a year or two away from the game.. can't see that happening though, it means too much to him.

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

If I open the this door and start judging him for whatever it is he's done, I have to do the same with all the other athletes I admire. I'm sure I'd run out of athletes to watch. I've come to the conclusion that I can enjoy what they do professionally without condoning or damning what they do in their private lives.

I think he still eclipes Nicklaus easily. He will have between 20-25 majors when he is done.

I have no doubt in my mind he'll break the record. Tigers mindset has been focused solely on being the greatest golfer who ever lived, and that includes being the greatest major championship winner ever. This latest "blip" on his radar won't keep his eyes off one man: Mr. Nicklaus.

I think he passes it and retires when he has 20 or so and is 38-40 years old with >100 PGA Tour wins.

I don't see a middle road on this. Either he stops winning majors ala Palmer, Watson and Ballesterios or he blows right past Jack before he turns 40 and finishes with something like 21. Either his nerves could be shot from all that's gone on or these strange developments will further strengthen his resolve.

I think this situation will make him focus and win more majors. This might be an eye opener to see how he screwed his game (speculation since he didnt win any majors in 09) and his family.

Maybe he will practice more and dominate like 99-01 years as far as majors go. Hell, his knee injury could have been from some kinky sex move that he did with one of the skanks. I think this will put everything back into perspective for him

I think he'll get 22 or more majors. Honestly, I'm wondering how many late nights he's had with some of these women. He might show up for some rounds better rested, etc. now.

Unless Elin leaves him in which case he'll be out all night every night with AK, hitting everything that moves

I believe he will pass Jack's record. He has tons more chances left to accomplish it and he will take advantage of it.

Never was a Tiger fan until his knee injury (the second sucks comment turned me off right away). I was rooting for him to win a major post knee surgery, then I was going to go back to rooting against him. However, his behaviour this year on and off the course has made it difficult for me to like him.

I do believe he'll break the professional majors mark set by Jack, but I do have a friendly wager on the under on a 20 majors bet. If he wins 20 it'll be a push.

I predict that he will tie Jack when he's in his early 40s and reach 100 wins at around the same time. He will win his 19th major in his mid 40s and retire.

The danger here, is that I see him playing the British Open and Masters every year until he's 60. He probably wants the oldest to win a golf major record also.

Ok, I'm back... Long time for me here it goes... Ok if you pull the bs that the golf writers pulled when Jack won the '86 Masters... with it being his "20th" major... two factors in Tiger's favor... He don't have a 20-something breathing down his neck challenging him in every major he plays... Tiger is gonna finish with something like 20... I'll give him at least one more Masters maybe two... 2010 might be a triple... don't quote me (no par 70s)... he'll win 20 or 21 get to 100 tour wins and ride off into the sunset... of course he has one order of business before retirement... he's gonna captain at least one Ryder Cup... if my damn knee ever heals right...

what about michael jordan? what about magic? david cone, a-rod, chipper jones, de la joya. let's not forget presidents jack kennedy and bill clinton. just a few famous people who have transgressed. point is, if bedding women is as easy as putting on shoes, it's bound to happen. i feel sorry for tiger and his family, but i don't feel any different with respect to him as a person. i've always cheered for tiger, and probably always will. i probably wouldn't want to marry the guy after all this, but chances are i wouldn't have married him in the first place.

He didn't seem like my kind of mate either - now Lee Janzen . . . he's dreamy. But I digress.

Tiger was a pouty champ. Now he's a punchline to a dirty joke. Meh. BTW - I'd like to hear some feedback from the women you had in the sack - if you put in the same effort into it as putting on a pair of shoes. Actually, was that a metaphor based on those "ladies"?

What he does off the course has no affect on what I think of him as a golfer unless he kills someone or does some really really terrible thing. Cheating on his wife is pretty common among the world's most famous athletes. Nothing new.
