Play suspended today. Probably ball-in-hand tomorrow, and in soggy conditions look for the best ballstrikers to go real low.

Solid fantasy points in Day 1. Too bad I had Bubba Watson on the bench.

While you're on that topic then, who do you think is the best ball striker in the field?

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

I think ball-in-hand tightens the gap between the bad and the good ballstrikers, actually.

Think about it - if you got to put every ball on a tee would you play worse or better? I think ball-in-hand helps the poor ballstrikers more than the good ones.

Is play-by-play working for anyone? From here, it looks like it says "Waiting to tee off on hole i " until a score is posted, at which point it is "Waiting to tee off on hole i+1 "

Taking away most of the problem with a bad lie is definitely to the advantage of worse ballstrikers. It of course give the better ballstrikers the advantage of a perfect lie too, but I'll agree it's to the advantage of the less gifted.

Somewhat related to the tournament, I don't like the guy interviewing pros and celebrities on the range. Don't know his name, but he's too loud. Reminds me of a duck quacking. Edit: Michael Breed is his name...

I definitely agree with you Iacas, as no doubt it'll help out the poor ballstrikers very much so.

And to Tiger Spuds: I'd have to say that right now the best ballstriker in the field is Briny Baird, arguably. Alex Prugh is hitting the ball real well this week, though.

It's a good thing I started Bubba Watson today on my fantasy lineup.

edit: Of course. As I typed that he bogeys 14.

The thought occurs to me: if Bubba wins this tournament, we could have a Palmer-Watson as back-to-back winners on the PGA Tour for the first time in ages.

Also, we might have two Watsons win in the same week. We had two Duvals a while back, although they are actually related.

Watching the celebrity interviews at 16... what's with the huge bowl of runts? It's just sitting there. I haven't even seen anyone take refreshments from the table. I haven't had that candy in a while, and I'm wanting it now. It's probably some of the most effective advertising I've seen in a golf tournament in a while.

The announcer just called it M&Ms;, but it clearly isn't.

Haha. That's awesome! Go Bubba!

Huh? My question said that, twice. I'm just curious to see how Goydos went about tripling par.
