Wow, upwards of 70 bucks? Geez, I couldn't imagine payin' that everytime I wanted to shoot a round. I live in a small coal mining town though. Unless you golf or run around at the local Wal-Mart you don't really have much else to do.

Weekend full rate is $50, weekday twilight is $24, however on non-twilight rounds they have a stamp card so you get every 6th round free, which helps. Cart fee is $15, but I walk 75+% of the time; I do ride occasionally when playing with those that won't walk, but I much much prefer to walk.

I frequent three local courses the average cost per round is $22 walking and $34 riding. That is after 12pm. These are all municipal courses but they might be equal to some higher priced courses in northern states.

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

There are two courses that are really nice here, Stone Crest which is a beautiful course but in a very bad location it's a public club with option for a membership which I think is around 3500-3800 dollars. Then the private one is like $3000 I forgot to ask about memberships in the original thread. I don't have a membership but would like to. At the course I play most often it's $1400 for a 5 day annual with a cart.

$500 yr then $18 to ride and 5 to walk after that. Really pretty cheap...especially since the conditions are not too bad most of the time.

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee

My course is a rip-off for non members.

40 euro (50 dollars) for a round and another 20 euro (30 dollars) for a buggy.
So 80 dollars in total.

The course isn't good enough to justify that kind of price.

$22 during the week, $32 on the weekends (Friday is a weekend), $8 for a cart for 9, $16 for a cart for 18. The course is very hilly, on 9 and 18 which are par 3's, your tee shot has a 90 foot drop to the green, so walking is very difficult. When I was younger I would walk 9 and ride 9, now it is much more difficult.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

We have good variety of courses (public and semi-private) on Illinois side near St. Louis.

Course average 18-hole cost + cart
Course clusters WeekendWeekdaySenior
High end (1)..... $72.......$52.............$42
Medium (5)...... 42....... 32.............. 32
Low end (2)...... 35....... 29.............. 25

Some courses reduce price by $10 to $18 if you walk;
One course impossible and two others tough to walk,
due to great distance between some holes.

And, the high and medium range courses will cut
their prices same-day if players are scarce.

15 to walk my home course, and 10 twilight walking. on the weekends it's 10 bucks more, but twilight is the same. a cart is 15 for a full 18. it's a pretty damn good course, too. it's a tillinghast course and was host to the '29 pga championship. weekends i play at my cousin's country club with his buddies. i don't know how much it costs, and not too sure i want to.

I pay around $200/month at the course at here in AR. It's nothing extra to walk, and it's $12 for a cart for 18 holes. Seeing that I play at least twice a week and that the course it always in top condition and basically dead anytime other than Saturday at noon, it's a pretty good deal.

The course I used to play at in Houston is $450/month for a resident membership, but right now I have it at non-resident status which cuts the dues in half. It's always in near-perfect condition and has hosted the US Open, Ryder Cup, US Amateur, and Tour Championship; I know that's quite a bit of money, but for a course at this caliber it's an absolute steal.

    • I had a few tweeks in the bag. I took out my Mizuno pro FliHi 3 iron replaced it with a Titleist GT2 7 Wood. what a change that is, so easy to hit, it goes so high without it ballooning on me. I couldn't get rid of my callaway woods ( Rogue ST Max LS ) but changed the shafts to Diamana BB 63 stiff for the driver and 73 stiff for the 3 wood. Than i got myself a new putter Odyssey S2S jailbird yes i joined the centershaft family
    • First off all i think you should use the same ball all the time. We all strive for consistency on the course, the only factor you can be sure it will be always the same is your ball if you always use the same. So i think we should always use the same. I recently switched from Titleist Pro V1x to Srixon Z-Star Diamond because it i get a bit softer feel around the greens and same results on driver and irons
