I don't know how much you can trust such a report...
But I hope it's true. While I do watch golf whether Tiger is playing or not, I like it better when the #1 plays.

Personally I don't care when he comes back if at all. What he put his wife and kids through should be enough to kick him off the tour.

What he does off-the course should have no bearing on his qualification on the tour as long as he does not violate the tour policy.

he didn't break any laws or rules of the PGA, therefore there is no justification for him being kicked off the tour. he who is without sin may cast the first stone.

Conduct unbecoming can get you fired from your job (say getting drunk at a holiday party) and it can get you kicked out of the military. Your actions reflect those that you work for and the entities you are a member of. Tiger works for and is a member of the PGA... if they decided that his actions did not reflect the PGA Tour in the manner for which they define, he more than definitely could be booted from the tour. Would they ever do it is another story. Just read last week's issue of Golf World and you can see the stats he brings in just for viewers of each tournament. If memory serves me correctly, having Tiger in a tournament draws an extra percentage point in the ratings automatically... if he's in contention it goes up even more.

there's no chance tiger would be kicked off the tour for infidelity, even if it was found out he was sleeping with men and midgets. finchem would kiss tiger's shoe if it would bring him back faster. the tour, nike, scotty cameron, buick, the first tee, golf stores and golf courses all over the world will suffer the day tiger hangs up his shoes. trust me, nobody wants that to happen anytime soon.

I doubt we'll see him at the Match Play. Accenture recently dropped their sponsorship of him; do we think he'd make his return at a tournament they sponsor?

I doubt the kids know what is happening, and we have no idea what his wife put him through. I'll just re-iterate the above "let he who is without ..."

That is a different situation. PGA tour members are independent contractors. They are not hired by PGA.

Yukari - No wonder you're a tiger lover... look at that picture you have. You must be about 12 years old (I say this in jest but mentally you must be about 13). Young pups just don't understand what real life is about.

Personally, I think golf is a lot more exciting right now without him. I enjoy tuning in each week to see who's going to step up to the plate and win. I like learning about some of these other guys like Fowler, etc. Also, call me a sadist but I love seeing how Phil is going to blow it each week as well.

I actually think Tiger will probably try and make a return right around the Masters. He has a ton of things to deal with off the course, but I think it will be hard for him to sit out the Masters. However, if he intends on playing in the Masters, I do think needs to play a competitive tournament or two before then to get warmed up.

I could live without him no problem. And all of the Tiger Fanboys.

Do you have a rebuttal to his claim, or just name-calling?

If it were my business... and not having signed any papers with the tour - it isn't , TW would be gone, period.

However, as the tours are attendance driven, this sort of misadventure certainly drives the attention factor to polar extremes, and I am unfortunately inclined to believe that this is exactly what advertisers secretly want. Although it is the degree to which his transgressions extended that caused the loss of personal sponsors, I am to date unaware of any tour sponsors that have dropped away because of it.

So on a personal note, I'd say that an absence of a couple years would serve his personal interests best... but I fear that his ego and upbringing will continue to drive him on a different path. I guess we'll all see what happens shortly, but I don't think Bobby Jones or Jack (my Gold Standard for "Golfer") would be back this quick after a disaster of the magnitude we've recently witnessed.

The kids will dearly pay the most, but I'd eventually sure like to see them in a PM-style green-side family gathering some day...

Good luck to the family, no doubt they need it in the interim - far more than TW needs to play.

Good question.

I happen to prefer it when Tiger is there to provide a yardstick to measure other golfers by. His off course shennanigans have nothing to do with his on course performance. He is the best until someone unseats him, regardless of leezer's opinion. And by the way leezer, I'm no young pup, and I am a fan of quality golf, not just of Tiger. I love it when he's being pushed.... because that means that more than one player in the field is playing at the top of his game. I was a huge fan of Nicklaus. I loved it when he won, but I still liked it when he was edged out, because that meant that we got to see some GOLF!!!. The same is true when Tiger is in the field.

Choosing the Accenture Championship might sound strange, but then again, how much does Tiger care about his sponsors, or ex-sponsors? Will he not play Accenture because they dropped him? I doubt so. They made some good points in the article (or the one they referred to), about Accenture being in the desert with far less spectators than a regular PGA Tour event. Those traveling being golf fans and perhaps won't harass him.

I'm still thinking the Masters, I bet 3 rep points on it!

Augusta National keeps control of the crowds, it would be an easy return for him. Plus he'd probably win anyway

Ha ha ha!

I only wish that was true. If I knew then what I know now, I would be having so much fun. Unfortunately, I am waaaay past 12. But you maybe right in that I am mentally only about 13! I must admit, I do seem to have a lot more libido than most guys--even teenagers. Hey, maybe I too am a sex addict?? Good thing I don't have all the fame and money like Tiger, otherwise I'll have a string of women too--I only have a handful of 'em.

    • Day 121: did a bit of mirror work with my driver. Working on shortening the backswing.
    • Day 305 - Grip and backswing work. Full swings were bothering the hip a bit.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-15 Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.
    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.
