Go out again in a couple days, then never let more than a couple days pass without swinging a club.

I don't mean to be funny but blisters after a bucket of balls and nine holes seems odd.

I don't know what to suggest.
I seem to remember getting fairly bad blisters when I first started playing back in the early-mid nineties. I always used the basic rubber tour wraps. I later learned that these were undersized for me and I went to a larger grip and things seemed to improve. Long daily range sessions beating balls with small grips seemed to be the norm.

In emergency situations, I'd use white medical tape (kept in my golf bag). A layer or two of this can work wonders.

If you are getting blisters, you are gripping the club too tightly. Pretend you are holding a bird and you dont want it to escape, but you don't want to injure it either.

Ironically, I used to get blisters with soft grips. Since I switched to full cord a few years ago - no more blisters. I've tried a few versions and they're all pretty good now, but they're a bit more expensive.

PS - the clubhead doesn't twist as much when you hit the COG - work on hitting the sweet spot - even if you have to hit 3/4 shots to do it.

Harvey Penick always said that if you are getting blisters, there is something wrong with your grip. In 35 years I've never had a blister from golf, and I don't wear a glove. I don't know if it's because my grip is good or I'm just lucky. My hands aren't unusually tough.

I used to get some calluses, but after working on my grip and swing, I don't get them anymore. I also wore out gloves pretty quickly, something I don't do today.

I don't wear gloves, and I have a few small calluses (they're not even enough for anyone but me to really notice, but I can tell there are areas with a little extra skin). Blisters are bad, calluses are normal so long as they're not huge or overly plentiful. I play with my wedding ring on and have a small callus on each side of that, for example. And a little one on the middle-finger-side of my left ring finger. Hmm, that's it. Just those three (two around the ring, and that one). Could have sworn there were more...

Whether you use a glove and what types of grips you use (corded grips for example vs. Winn grips) will play a role.

If I swung as much as I do now - even with the swing I have now - I'd get blisters too. Some people - myself included - don't get blisters because we've toughened up our hands over the years. That doesn't mean we need to have calluses, but just slightly thicker skin or something that can handle a thousand impacts per week. You can have a perfect grip and get blisters if you've not swung a golf club much - you don't need to have a bad grip. Though I do think mis-hitting the ball (it twists the club) can exaggerate blistering...

Golf is littered with stories about players who practiced so much their hands bled. So please don't get all uppity - speaking in general, people - about blisters. The best in the game have had 'em at one time or another. They don't always mean the guy who gets them sucks.

I've never gotten blisters, but I have tons of calluses. I have them just under each of my ring and middle fingers, at the base of my right index finger, all along the ring finger side of my left pinkie finger, and along the middle finger side of my left ring finger. I tend to get rid of them when they get too thick though.

i used to get them as a junior in H/S...but i used to golf every day, 18+ holes and multiple buckets of balls and no glove(s)
i get calluses (sp?) now a bit, but no blisters-even w my old GPNCMD grips

as iacas mentioned, im not sure if its a sign of a poor grip or not
ur hands will toughen up dude, especially if you havent played much over the winter

I've hit a TON of range balls this year... far more this year than in any other year (with the exception of maybe 2005). I used to get HORRIBLE blisters on my right hand... and I used to run through left hand gloves like they were toilet paper. Now... I've been using the same glove since last August and there is nearly NO wear on it... and the only callus or slight blister I've got is at the base, on the pad of my index finger of my right hand. I don't know what has changed, but at points in the past... I was forced to wear a glove on my right hand because of how EASILY I got blisters from swinging a golf club. Maybe it's just that my hand adapted... or my grip has changed a bit. Either way... I agree that even the BEST players I've played with (guys with sub 5 handicaps) got blisters.

    • 3 rainouts in a row….that’s SAD Sorry, I’m in MI or I would take you up on a round.
    • Day 3:  I tried to hit a bucket at the range but an 80 year old man (he told me his age, showed me his knee replacement scars, told me all about his chronic low back pain, etc) couldn’t pass up the opportunity to mansplain to me every little thing I’m doing wrong.  Dude, it’s my third frickin day.  I know I need to twist my hips more, I know I need to keep my head/chest down and not pop up, I know I need to hit through the ball and follow through further, yada yada yada.  I know.  That’s exactly what I’m trying to work on.  How about you tell me or show me how to do those things instead of telling me to watch Iron Byron videos?  Rough day.
    • Day 132: 5/7/24 Full Speed Spectrum Training session 8/24. 7th training program overall.    Another slow session but 4 mph faster than my last session, which was my slowest ever. Going to the doctor on Friday to check on pulled neck muscle.
    • Day 26: Did full swing practice after work. First 15 balls were working on top of the backswing feel, and then tried to incorporate transition feel into the next 15 balls. A's, although this will be my last season of being a fan as they leave for Las Vegas (by way of Sacramento for a few seasons). Hard to see myself rooting for the Giants, but if that's the only MLB in the Bay Area, I guess I might get on board.
    • My two cents? Don't. As a beginner that's interested in learning about the golf swing, you'll find yourself consuming a lot of information, most of which isn't even relevant to your own swing. You need to learn you can't think your way to a good golf swing. Focus on the one thing that you're working on and doing that on every swing, come what may. And remember, mishits happen.
