Who else wears Oakley shades for golf or other activities? I bought a pair of flak jackets with gold irridium lenses two years ago. They are the best sunglasses I have ever worn as far as clarity, coverage, and fit. Two months ago I bought the G30 lenses to pop in for golf. I had hesitated previously, but I am glad I got them. The contrast on the course is much better. It's easier to read greens and to pick up a ball in the air on an overcast or hazy day.

Does anyone else use another lens on their Oakleys for everyday use or for golf? I'm interested in maybe getting a set that blocks out more light than the G30s for the summer months, but the gold irridium isn't great for golf IMO.

I have owned a pair of Oakley Half Jacket XLJ's for about 3 years and I love them. I'm still using the regular smoked lenses that came with them, but I might consider getting another set of lenses for golf here pretty soon. I also had a pair of Oakley Minute 2.0 sunglasses for about 4 years that I wore every day until last week when traveling with the family to visit relatives, and I found them broke down in between the seat and the console.

I have worn Oakleys to play golf for the last 5 seasons. This year I bought a pair of Antix (Smoke-polarized lenses) and they are awesome. They block out about 90% of the sun and are very clear and comfortable. They are bit on the pricey side, but they are worth it in my opinion.

i use some oakley radar paths with black iridium for softball. i wonder if thats okay for hte golf course too. most golfers seem to use the flak/half jacket style.

I wear prescription Oakley's (Tightrope I believe) that are iridium coated and double gradient. I like wearing the Oakley's on the golf course because things appear clearer / brighter and easier to see. The ball seems a bit brighter when it's in the grass.
Plus, they're a "single" prescription. Last week I was wearing my regular glasses that are transitional bifocals.... I had the worst round of golf, I guess I had a hard time focusing on the ball!!! LOL.

Ive been wearing oakleys since I was a BMX riding teenager, today (almost 10 years later) I own the minute (not 2.0) and half jacket sunglasses, both sets with ice, black, and fire iridium lenses. I just love the quality and customer service of oakley and dont think I can ever go with any other company.

I have a pair of Pro M frames from about 1996 that I sometimes wear. But mostly I wear some Tifosi Ventoux sunglasses that I picked up for cycling. They work great for golf too. Came with 3 sets of lenses. I have the standards, but they also have a golf version.

I'm guessing he is either fishing for a new bag sponsor or doesn't want to get caught looking at chicks in the gallery.

I switched from Oakleys to Maui Jims about 4 years ago. I like the darker tint in the middle of the lens and lighter tint on the bottom and top of the Jims. I like some of the new styles Oakley has out now and have thought about pick one up.

I've got a pair of twenties and a set of wire frames. I wear the wire frames for everything except golf which the twenties are designated for. The twenties have blue lenses and the wire frames have smoke lenses. I do not wear the glasses all the time on the course but when i do i don't usually putt with them on.

I have a pair of Flak Jacket XLJ with the Gold Iridium lenses that I've been using for about a year now. The reason I wear them has nothing to do with them helping me on the course or for clarity/contrast issues but instead just to protect my eyes from UV rays. I have a family member that has macular degeneration, and they say it's very much hereditary. One of the best things you can do to help prevent it from happening is to protect your eyes outside the same way you'd protect your skin from UV rays. Whenever I'm outside, I either have my Oakleys on if I'm doing something athletic, or I have a pair of Ray-Bans that I wear for everything else. I never go anywhere without my sunglasses. I have the "racoon" tan to prove it too.

Three years ago, I purchased Smith Optics Factor sunglasses (black frame) as the Oakley's were a bit over-priced IMO. The Polarized interchangeable lens system creates a very clear periphery for unobstructured views. Set came with three different lenses for different lighting conditions (IIRC, only one set was polarized). Good glasses for the $.

    • I watched this video of his last night: I don't hate him like @boogielicious apparently does and thought this was a pretty good premise so I gave it a shot.  Not the worst thing in the world and I especially liked the premise.  He's got a lot of air to fill by himself, which he isn't great at, but in doing so, you get some decent insight into how his brain works while setting up shots/putts.
    • So driver is longer than all the other clubs and gear effect plays a bigger part with driver than anything else. If you're hitting it out of the heel it could slice even if you have the face square. Could try some foot spray or impact tape and check that. Other thing is if the shaft is different in how it flexes or how flexible it is it could be affecting your swing somewhat. Driver also has the straightest face, so while with a 4 iron it might fade, with driver that can wind up being a slice with the same face angle at impact.
    • Yeah I have taken lessons. I also got clubs fitted in like 2011 ish. My driver and wedges aren't from that set though.    1. I'm just not sure why I can't seem to get the face back to square. I don't have that problem with my other clubs. Sure the longer ones a miss tends to be a slice, but I don't need to make a grip change to only sometimes hit the ball reasonably straight.   2. I think there is a bit of inaccuracy there. The number I have in my head is like 195 for my 5 iron. 4 iron also definitely has more variance than all my other irons, but 210ish is about right for non mishits.
    • Only if they call you Poindexter!
    • For multiple reasons, including "why should anyone else care to continue to search for someone else's ball?" No thanks.
