Whats the correct way to hit a draw?

With a straight neutral swing but adjust your feet to a closed position so you swing from inside, or...

Aim at the target and use your swing to produce the draw by swinging inside the plane?

Inside out, closed blade towards target

Inside out, extra rotation of hands

Inside out, grip trailing a little behind

a stronger grip

etc......

But in general inside out with a closed face.

This is one of the more common ways to accomplish a draw...

You will have two alignment points to think about.

Stand behind the ball and pick out a line that you want the ball to start on - this will be right of the target.

Set up to the ball on that line.

Then set your club face to your desired target - this will be to the left of your starting line.

Then swing and make sure you release the club. You can also slide your back foot back a little bit to make sure you are coming from the inside.

Correct way? Whichever way works for you. For me it's stance square to a fraction open w/ squarish club face and an in-to-out swing path.

What's the equation, or what are the steps to actually do it? Like misty says, whatever works for you - if it comes off like you planned, it may not have really happened like you planned, but who cares, as long as you're not getting paid to give lessons?

Then your subconsciously keeping the clubface open so the ball doesn't start right. I believe for a right hander its easier to subconsciously take the ball to the right, than it is for the fade. Because i hit more trees following the old rules of hitting a fade.

so many conflicting views.... i used to hit a draw with a flat swing and take it way inside, but this led to many shanks n mishits. now i hit solidly with a more upright swing, but can fade and pull the ball as im slightly over the top. wish i could have my inside swing with my solid contact i get now....

Like Iacas said "with a club face open to the target." Its that simple, if the clubface is square or pointed left of the target the ball will end up left, if you swing from the inside.
It does not really matter how you get there, but the face must be pointed to the right(of the target) with a swing path(relative to the face) from the inside. Its a simple "law of physics."

That will probably produce a draw... but the end result will likely be a ball that starts at your target and draws left of your target. Like iacas said earlier, the proper way to hit a draw is with an open clubface. The ball starts where the clubface is pointed so the open face pushes the ball out to the right and your inside-out swing path produces the draw spin bringing it back to your target.

Obviously there's more than one way to skin a cat though and if it works for you, by all means, continue. Kenny Perry hits a lot of pull draws and it works for him, so to each their own.

If this supposedly does not work then why does tiger and all the pros on tour teach how to hit a draw like that? If you get a major under your belt than maybe we will listen to the madness as i call it.
