favorite fairway wood

My tm 580 3wd. I've never found anything that can touch it off the tee or fairway.

The callaway bigbertha 2004 series is a close second.

For 5wds i've got a vsteel ITB that is quite reliable. Can't think of a close second for 5wds.

The one constant for fairway woods i've found is that i need at least a stiff in most otherwise it's this lame high balloony flight. I used an r9 3wd with an r flex a couple of weeks ago that looked & sounded nice but flew like a 7wd.

My favorite I have ever had was a Titleist Pro Trajectory 13* from about 1992. Played that club for about 8 years and gave it and $50 for a nearly new Taylormade Firesole Driver.

Currently I have an old 14* Orlimar with an EI-70 shaft ($36 with a new grip used from Golfsmith) and a Joe Powell persimmon ($8 from a pawn shop) and I like them both pretty well.

yea I have a titleist 975f pro trajectory 3 wood. I actually just got a callaway x 3 wood and I have found I like the titleist better so I am returning the callaway.

I'm kinda partial to my Cally Steelhead with the Memphis 10 steel shaft. It's my secret weapon.

i play an old, way old, callaway three wood. its heavier than many modern three woods, and the grip is almost like the ones on tennis rackets. great club though

I don't reccommend my Callaway ft fairway wood. I don't enjoy using it what so ever, and it is not very forgiving considering others i have tried since purchase.

Love my dymo off the tee and off the deck. Thing just goes straight for miles.

I like that 2004 Big Bertha as well. Easier to hit than the old Warbird woods, and it has the old Warbird soleplate which is great in the rough. And it can be had for really cheap on ebay.

I'm not very long off the tee so I have a Ping TiSi Tec 12 degree strong 3 in my bag to help things out. It is unbelievable! It almost never fails to get the ball up and out from just about any sort of lie imaginable and has left me in position for an eagle on more than one par 5 hole. I'm flirting with the idea of going to a G5 or G10 13 degree but they're hard to find and I don't know if I could hit it as well as the strong 3.

I thought I loved my 4-5 yr old Callaway X 3W until I had the new Taylormade Rocket Balz in my hand.  You seriously have to be kidding me......This also applies to their rescue 18 degree I was demo'ing.  I say again, you seriously have to be kidding me.  Can you say BOMBS!!!!!   The 3W I've must have gained easily 10-15 yds.  How do I know?  On hole 18 at my local course, long par 4, straight, up to the green.   Big green.   Usually my 2nd shot is the 3W to the green which I have never, ever, made the green with Callaway.   I usually break out my PW for an easy chip on.  I had the TM for a demo that day.  Same location on fairway, same weather conditions.  I flew the green.  I almost thought I miss hit the ball.  I dropped 2 balls down just to be sure.  Both solid hits.  Both flew the green as well.  It appeared one of them stuck on the back edge and rolled off with the others but all of them were off.  Has anyone else tried these new clubs by Taylor Made?  I cant vouch for the driver, I dont want to even try the damn thing.  The 3W and Rescue I demo'd that day has totally messed my game up now.  I have to completely re calibrate my yardage and club selection now which is amazingly good.  WTF is up with these clubs?

I still have the same 3-wood in the bag 2 years later but haven't used the WS Fybrid since mid-2011. I guess the 2009 15 degree Cleveland Launcher 3w with stock Red S Fukijura is my favourite FW.
