I disagree 100%, I actually think it's 180* the other way. Daring to be racist is different that daring to stand up for something you believe in.

I though the point Limbaugh was making was that McNabb was being hyped more so than other talent because he was black? As I said the point Limbaugh made was/is debatable. I personally wasn't offended because Limbaugh dared to raise an issue that was sensitive. I would have liked to see the sports industry debat the issue, because the fact is race is a huge issue. Huge in America and huge in sports. That could have been a moment for those who disagreed with Limbaugh to debate and point out in an intellectual manner where his opinion was wrong. Instead the network and the sports industry ran from the issue as fast as they possibly could. To me that said as much about the state of race in America as the views Limbaugh espoused. We're afraid to confront the issue because of what it might say about us and about what the reality may or may not be. I personally don't care for Rush. But in that instance Rush could have very easily been discredited had the networks simply been willing to give him the opportunity to express his true beliefs. Instead he was martyred in his followers eyes and sacrificed for the greater good to his opponents.

This is probably a shrewd move by the GC on many levels.

Rush has never said a racist word on the radio. I have been listening to him for 20 years and never once heard anything close to it. The Donovan comment was about a lunatic media making waves about not having enough black quarterbacks. The media was trying to make McNabb into a superstar...... and he proved all by himself that he was not great. Rush called the media out on it........and they couldnt stand it. The media gang banged Rush with the race card. Sports fans jumped on the bandwagon because most of them are blind to what goes on with the media and politics.

Donovan never had recievers? Pfffft ! He's had some good ones, not to mention a great player like Westbrook. I like Donovan...... he plays hard... he projects good humor.....and comes off as a likeable guy to me. But he's not great. The press and media tried hype him into a Manning or Brady.

I have only seen about 4 or 5 episodes with Ray Romano...I think I will keep it that way.

Well, the show definitely lost one viewer.

The appeal of seeing Barkley was a former world-class athlete with a severe psychological limitation to his swing, and whether or not Hank could fix it. The appeal with Romano was that he was the perfect candidate: funny/entertaining, in decent shape and actually a solid golfer.

I have absolutely no interest in seeing somebody as off-putting personality wise as Limbaugh who is also in horrible shape. I know nothing about his golf swing, and I couldn't care less. And anybody who claims he has never made a racially charged or flat out racist comment is seeing things through rose-tinted glasses. I feel for you.

Rush loves golf because it is the ultimate capitalist, conservative sport. No contracts that allow a player to get lazy or start whining, no team play that allows a player to blame his poor performance or hide behind the good performances of others. It is pure competition, week in and week out. Pay based on performance, pure and simple.

It is the exact opposite of the whole "it doesn't matter who wins, just as long as everyone feels good about themselves" psychobabble that the left-wing loons are so find of.

Well if this thread is any indicator, the show will probably be quite entertaining! I can't stand Rush myself but to each his own...
If I saw the show on I may check it out for a few minutes.
