That's spot on. But Roger was much better with Berman. For whatever reason, Johnny always looks to be told that he is right, and even if Roger disagrees with him (as rare as that is) he just maintains that he is right.

Definately NOT Chris Berman.

+1. Berman was absolutely insufferable yesterday. Can't remember who it was, but he birdies 8-9-10. They showed each putt go in. Bermans insightful commentary after each was "Wow" "Woooow" and (wait for it) "Woooooow"

I like Johnny Miller - tells it like it is.

It's Johnny Miller and others for me. No one has ever provided more useful tips that the average golfer can identify and potentially utilize, situational stuff that often jogs my memory on the course when I'm facing a similar shot.

Faldo has improved this year, taking it more seriously, but he's still overly cautious. If he transferred his form from the one appearance on The Golf Fix to his weekly commentary then he'd catch and perhaps surpass Johnny. Feherty is nothing but a suck up. I can't imagine a more pathetic golf announcer. It's incredible his occasional clever one liners obscure how poor he is at the meat of his job, describing the action in balanced terms. Tiger could 6 putt and it would be an awesome 6 putt, considering the circumstances. In the past year there has been more criticism of Feherty, along those lines. It's destined to increase since his performance has declined, if anything. You can't shield reality forever.

I honestly have to say that I love Chris Berman doing the U.S. Open. He cracks these jokes and makes sarcastic remarks that are too good to pass up.

Chris Berman is the absolute worst golf announcer.........trying to give the players "names", etc.

I always look forward to tournaments on NBC since I know Miller will be commentating. I like his candor and enjoy his swing analysis. With that said, I understand why some can't stand him...he comes across as a know-it-all and can get annoying with his told-you-so comments.

I cannot stand Nick...sorry, Sir Nick Faldo. I think he has it written into his contract that he must be referred to as Sir Nick 50% of the time. Just listen. Besides that, he always turns the conversation towards himself. Finally, he doesn't really add that much to the commentary IMO.

I do like the CBS on the course guys, Feherty and some of the other goofs.

Whoever came up with the saying, "A bad day of golf is better than a good day at work", is a moron.

Johnny Miller at Pebble Beach was perfect. He has played there so many times that he knew each hole's characteristics, where you needed to place the ball, how the greens ran, which bunkers were easier to play out of and which to avoid. And he was right almost 100% of the time. If he says that a putt would break more than most players thought, it generally did. If he said you needed to hit a fade into a green to prevent the ball from running off the green, he was right. That information made it more interesting, because you could then see whether the pros would try to hit the shot he thought they needed.

I don't always agree with some of his opinions, his course analysis is 2nd to none.

I'd have to say Koch and Faldo.

Best are Feherty, McCord, and Notah Begay. Brandel Chamblee is also terrific. The lamest include Rich Lerner and Mark Rolfing, and the very lamest is Jim Nantz who comes across as the ultimate corporate bootlicker. I actually like Johnny Miller; he was a great champion at one time and "knows whereof he speaks". But I understand the criticisms of him on this thread as an eccentric, awkward, sometimes tongue-tied oddball; here's what he said following Phil's tee shot at the 5th on Sunday: "This shot is either good...or not good". uuuuhhhhh, yeah.

    • Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.
    • Day 123 12-13 Rotation and getting to lead side work. Recorded face on. Hit a few foam balls but did plenty of rehearsals today.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
