I have a question for you all. Someone borrowed my driver, and evidently slammed it on the ground after a bad shot. Now, there is a dent there and a small crack. How much will this affect playability? The dent and crack or on the bottom on the clubhead, near the hosel end. Let me know please, so I can decide whether or not this will warrant another driver being purchased. Thanks!

I'd say someone either owes you a new driver or you owe them a beatdown with the old one.

It'll only get worse the more you hit it. If your friend really was a friend, he would ante up and replace it. If it wasn't a friend, why are you loaning stuff to a stranger?

As soon as you said "crack" I said to myself "it's dead".

You're either looking at a new head or a whole new club.

It was a friend, and immediately he told me he would replace it for me, or get me a different one. I was just curious as to how much damage was actually done.

On a seperate note, has anyone played the Nike Dymo driver? They are in the same price range, and if he is going to replace it anyway, I thought about trying a different type. Opinions?

i had the dymo driver. despite the good revies i didnt really like it that much, feel and sound were kind of weird, and i like more of a shallow face, the dymo has a prett deep face.. meaning the dymo has a more horizontal face rather than a vertical face if that makes since.

umm id say check how bad the crack is and see if its fixable or your just going to replace it id say save the shaft and grip if there good or of worth a high value

I don't even let my friends look at my clubs, let alone hit them.

When I catch a playing partner looking directly at my clubs (especially a complete stranger), I zip up the raincover a little tighter. Then I look at them with an angry face and shake my finger at them. I feel it makes the rest of the round go smoothly once everyone is aware of the boundaries.

I wouldnt let anyone hit the driver i have now, I had the shaft break a couple weeks ago on the exact same driver. I found another one on the heartland america website. I know its a cheap nitro driver that costs $30 but somehow i have more success hitting it than anything else ive tried lately(and i tried several used name brand drivers at a local golf store) hoping the shaft breaking on the other one was a fluke(it came from kmart) so who knows what happened to it before i bought it. But im very careful with this one. I get a nice low, piercing ball flight with it which seems to go much straighter than any other driver ive tried and as far as any ive ever hit. i have several drivers but this is my fav. I guess mayb the shaft and grip it has just seems to fit me, its all standard but maybe their standard more closely approximates what ideally fits me. I still bring an extra one with me every time i play, i do have another playing partner who would like to get another driver so ive been letting him try my other ones and see if he likes any of them but hes not gettting this one.

Is this is joke?
