I am not predicting it will happen, but what if Tiger does a Duval, and only gets worse? Would it how much interest would fans and media still have in Tiger?

Well by the looks of things not getting any better!! This is Tiger best finishes this year so far

4th in the Masters 4th in the U.S. Open 19th Memorial Tour 23rd British Open 46th AT&T; Now 78th in the Bridgestone Now I see a trend going on here!!!

Today at Whistling Straits. At least he has

I don't think they're the right ideas judging by those pictures. He's not finishing higher than 20th.

OH NO, Not the dreaded "Keep you head down"???? Every duffer in the world thinks this that is the key to golf...pull hook, Keep you head down Push to the left, Keep your head down. High w/o any power keep you head down.

He might as well take a few weeks off, sell his clubs start hanging out with Brian Bozworth and Ryan Leaf to complete the washout triplets.... Naa just kidding, he might not fix it in the next few weeks, but he'll be back!

He's actually working on keeping upright and not

dropping his head so much on the downswing.

Even par through 9 is my best.  I don't even want to think about what was my worst.

Yes, we know. I'm sure bigtank knows that too.

His head always dropped, in the back and as well in the downswing - even when he was hitting it well. Thats not the solution to his problems...

For those of you who are intrested - this guy analysed Tigers head dip and compared it to Ben Hogan who had the same action going on:

FW Burner 15°
Burner Rescue 19°

Different plan today for Tiger.Presumably this is to stop him moving his head too far to the right on the backswing..

I'm sure that'll help .

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

Yeah, I figured he knew that after I posted and realized what his HC was. :)

His life has been turned upside down. I praise him for getting back in the saddle so quickly. The only cure for his problems is winning. A victory will break the pain and a couple of wins and he is back on top. Do I ever think he will win 7 in a row or 3 or more Majors in a year, definately not.

Hey Eric, how come you say that? Is it because he's not working on his hand path?

Hey Eric, how come you say that? Is it because he's not working on his hand path?

He has a few things to work on, and his head staying level during the start of his downswing is not in the top three. It may not be in the top ten... of about five things he might need to change or tweak.

It's funny to think what may have been going through his head when that coach laid that club up against his hat. He probably had flinching flashbacks of the night

his wife put the club upside his head. Oh, the mental picture of that!

If the club against the right side of his head is meant to stop him from moving to the right on the backswing, then, that is good. It'll keep him over the ball and improve his contact...(especially if his swing is more upright as Sean Foley mentioned today vs. the laid off crap).

If it's there so he won't "drop his head, then, he's looking entirely in the wrong places and will struggle terribly this weekend.

There was talk on "Live from the PGA Championship" today on GolF Channel that some people think Tiger will never win another major and some even going as far to say he will never win again and will retire after next year. I do think Jack's record is safe, Tiger won't break the majors won record. Just too much mentally to overcome to get back to that level IMO. But to say he won't win again is silly.

I think that this is an extrememly short sided comment those people made on the Golf Channel.... I've said this before and I will say it again - it amazes me how short people's memories are...Yes, tiger is in a major slump but to say he will never win a tournament again..........really? Have we all so quickly forgotten what he has done and is capable of???

if theres anything to be said about Tiger, it's that he's extremely stubborn, resistant, and somethign should be said about his work ethic. I don't think for a second that Tiger will retire. Regardless of his poor performance this past season, he'll kick back. Thats a given in my opinion. What Tiger needs to do is get a confident swing back that he can trust. That involves a coach which I think Foley will able to achieve. Maybe not this season, but next year, he'll come back around.

I think there will always be an interest in Tiger no matter how bad he gets simply because everyone loves a great comeback story. Look at John Daly: people still talk about him every time he is even remotely in the hunt for a win.
Personally, I think Tiger is done. He just doesnt have the same fire in his eyes that he used to.

    • Day 132: 5/7/24 Full Speed Spectrum Training session 8/24. 7th training program overall.    Another slow session but 4 mph faster than my last session, which was my slowest ever. Going to the doctor on Friday to check on pulled neck muscle.
    • Day 26: Did full swing practice after work. First 15 balls were working on top of the backswing feel, and then tried to incorporate transition feel into the next 15 balls. A's, although this will be my last season of being a fan as they leave for Las Vegas (by way of Sacramento for a few seasons). Hard to see myself rooting for the Giants, but if that's the only MLB in the Bay Area, I guess I might get on board.
    • My two cents? Don't. As a beginner that's interested in learning about the golf swing, you'll find yourself consuming a lot of information, most of which isn't even relevant to your own swing. You need to learn you can't think your way to a good golf swing. Focus on the one thing that you're working on and doing that on every swing, come what may. And remember, mishits happen.
    • Day 6 (7 May 24) - More work in the backyard focused on tempo in addition to setup.  Worked with 6 and 7 irons hitting hard foam balls - used the old MacGregor irons to mix it up a little.
    • No! lol. But they have to be in the right sequence to play mid-handicap golf or little better. Mostly. And even in that there is range/margin for error in the motions and positions that most normal humans can handle. It helps if you have a decent idea of how a golf club moves around the body like you would any other equipment sports (baseball and hockey might be the closest) After all, fairways are 40 yards wide. Don't overthink it. Be diligent in getting basics right. I will concede that it is harder than it sounds but it certainly is not exact angle/exact position/exact degree of bend/exact speed/exact facial expression, etc, every.... single.... time or the result is horrible death.
