High End putter

Im with you. My golf pals are all idiots for the latest and greatest Cameron putters, and not one of them putts any better. 300 hundred plus wasted in my opinion. But its thier money.

I also have a old Bullseye "standard weight". One of the best putters ever produced.

+1, I love my slighter(s) I have the Portland FPR and a custom Tacoma. Love the feel off the deep milled faces. They also have incredible customer service, and if you go the custom route, you can get a 100% custom putter

Don't worry about having a "high end putter." Buy what feels best, fits your stroke best and looks best to you. If your current putter is working for you but your are, for whatever reason, worried it isn't high end enough, grab a marker and write "Scotty Cameron" on it.

Putters are incrediably personal. You have to find THE ONE that works for YOU.

Come to think of it..... of all my friends that golf, the worst putters (including myself) bag Scotty Camerons, Rife or other high-dollar putters. The best putters in my group? My father-in-law bags a Wilson from the 60s that looks like he stole it from a Putt-Putt course, an uncle who bags one of my old off brand gimick putters called "Puttology" and a buddy that plays a cheap Ram putter from Walmart.

Try and track down an older Newport Mil-Spec on ebay if you can - I've had it in my bag for 10 years and love it.

yea i agree, im going to have it checked out. Looks legit though. Honestly though 80 is a great price but you can get them brand new for 150 at places. Most used ones are around 100 or so and trade in value for it is only 65, so most people will take around 100

In the same dilemma here. Have owned a few Odyssey, Ping, Bullseye over the years. Never spent more than like $75 on a putter though. I have really struggled with my putting over the summer. So the last few weeks I have dedicated with going and trying almost anything I can get my hands on. I took price out of the equation. It has coem down to the Rife Trinidad and the SC Newport 2.6. Both with almost the exact same design. Like I said...I was unbiased when I started my search. But the Rife and SC just feel better and put a better roll on the ball with my stroke. I like them both about equal...so I am leaning towards the Rife on price only ($150 compared to the SC that is $300).

To me, putting is all confidence and it doesn't matter what putter you have if you are confident with it. If you are confident with a forty year old bullseye then great, you save money and you are comfortable on the greens. When I bought my putter, I tried every putter you could try and the first thing I did was look at it at address, if I liked it at address then I would try putting with it. If I didn't like it at address then it went back on the shelf. Putting is the one thing where the club doesn't matter as long as it finds the cup.

No, I was never coddled. And I never said I was better than others. I never played a certain club because it looks cool. See my G5's, nobody thinks they look good. Same insulting comments about my whack bag? Please enlighten me.

I agree with you but at the same time golf is very confusing and intimidating to some people who are just doing and trying what they feel is the best thing to do. Then comes people who have had more experience and instead of being supportive/understanding they turn into a**holes and forget what they themselves where like at one point.

My Bullseye can double as a lefty club and has done so more than once. How's THAT for versatility! Yes, she has a couple bruises from tree roots. So long as she sits still in my hands and meets the ball true she'll always be around.

A great high end putter you can find for a steal now days - the Callaway Tour Blue. Yeah, I said it.

It sounds to me like a lot of bitter people who don't have the extra coin for the putter they really want. Like everything in this world, you get what you pay for. R&d;, superior materials etc. The pros use them for a reason. Why do you think Tiger uses a Cameron over a Nike putter? I played the same beat down faux insert putter for years, then I moved to an Odyssey mallet. Used that for a few seasons and then started looking a Cameron. Picked up a Newport 2 midslant and haven't looked back. The quality is spectacular, the feedback is unreal. To me, it truly was worth the money.

Because he was signed to Titleist, and they made him a copy of his PING. I play a Scotty, cause I like it-but I don't putt any better than I do with my Srixon or PING.

I love my Scotty so much that I make almost 40 strokes a round with it.
