Westwood scares me as does Donald but Harrington has been off of his game all season and what have Poulter and Jimenez done this year? McIlroy is a threat but the US team is not chopped liver.

Jiminez won a tournament recently in a 3 way playoff, I think he won another this year too.

Harrington shot a 64 on sunday last week and was the first to card an eagle at Celtic manor yesterday, he's starting to find form.

Sometimes I wonder if certain people here watch/read about any Golf at all.

Miguel Angel Jimenez has won 3 times this year on the European Tour, in decent fields. 3 wins in a season is exceptional for any Golfer, regardless of which tour it's on, and especially for a 46 year old. He has vast experience and this will be his 4th Ryder cup appearance. If I was Corey Pavin, I'd be more worried about him grinding points away from my team than a lot of the guys on the European team.
A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

I like players on both teams. I'm not a fan of Pavin or Montgomerie and I don't judge a man by the actions of his wife, so it's a toss up really.

Mizuno MP600 driver, Cleveland '09 Launcher 3-wood, Callaway FTiz 18 degree hybrid, Cleveland TA1 3-9, Scratch SS8620 47, 53, 58, Cleveland Classic 2 mid-mallet, Bridgestone B330S, Sun Mountain four5.

Yeah, same with me. DJ and Bubba Watson are two of my favourite golfers, but so is McDowell. If I have to pick an overall team to cheer for, it's going to be Europe... I think.

Bah, I don't know. I guess I'll just have to see if I get all sentimental when DJ and Bubba are playing.

Just watched some of the 1999 Ryder Cup. Some of you Americans really were terrible people that weekend. All the abuse you threw at Monty like 'duff it you fat ****'. Really was disgusting to watch. The whole team then ran on Olazabal's line when celebrating Justin Leonards putt on the 17th. I hope Monty and Jose never forgive them for that, as that was in no way the spirit of the ryder cup. RIP Payne Stewart.

There is plenty of "over the top" from both sides on occasion. Belfry ring a bell?

I've got $50 on Europe. I just can't see the US doing it. The European guys are just too solid.

I will have to say that BallStricker brings up an interesting scenario. I could be totally wrong.

Europe should win, but they won't......my prediction is that is somehow comes down to the singles match between golden boy Rory McIlroy and the darth vader of golf, Tiger Woods.....and McIlroy gets his ASS handed to him...on the 15th green (where the match finishes), Tiger says...."Until you win a major, you are simply a minor-leaguer to me...fancy that"

When I look at the matchups I see strong USA teams. I dont see why everyone thinks they are the underdogs. The only disadvantage I see for the US is they are playing in england.

They're not playing in England, boyo.

    • Akshay Bhatia beat him in a playoff last year I think. He went something like -7 on his last 7 holes to get into a playoff and then rinsed a wedge on the 1st extra hole in a way that would have made Tommy (and Rory) blush.
    • Tristan, did you end up getting the new Edel wedges?  I'm very about due for new wedges.  I was trying other configurations a few years ago and somehow my 54 and 58 are both hand-me-downs that I never got around to getting as new and fitted, and my last new-as-in-new wedges were Ping Glides a long time ago.  I was thinking of Edel wedges earlier today, although their website seems to list only two fitters.   Did you end up getting them, and if so, what do you think of them?
    • @colin007, in terms of realistic sci-fi, its the best ever. They actually had an astrophysicist consult on the movie to be as accurate as possible with what we know about the universe.  For like dystopian, Blade Runner is probably king. Action/suspense is probably Alien/Aliens. Though Starship Troopers is fantastic. The Matrix is amazing.
    • Day 4 (August 14).  Full swing in my indoor practice room;  6-iron, off a mat, into a net.  Focus was on what I believe was my priority piece at last lesson (which, admittedly, was almost three years ago, due to absence).  I hit about a dozen balls this morning before going into the office.  (Also, errata to yesterday:  9 of the 12 coins were picked up on the second or third go around -- you can't pick up one on the first go around for that drill)
    • Watched The Gentlemen, took a little bit to get into it, but very good Guy Ritchie movie.  Collin Farrell and Hugh Grant were great. Give it a birdie.
