Hey guys! I hope this is the correct section to post this, I want to share with you something I practiced today and felt really, really well!

So with all these Stack & Tilt posts that iacas has shared with us, I grab a lot of ideas, like deep hands, weight foward and that stuff. Lately, due to a swing change I was having a lot of problems with my long irons. So today when I went to practice my purpose was trying to keep my weight on the left side and from there keep it foward, I don't know if I described it well, but I think you get the idea.

After a few practice swing I started hitting some balls, at the begginig it felt strange and I will not say that at the end of the practices it was already incorporated to my swing, but my gosh this really feels nice!

I was trying to keep my weight at the left side during my backswing and from there slide my hips and 95% of my weight to the left. What I was feeling is that I really was "hitting down" and I was hitting the ball solid and get rid of that miss hit I was talking in the other thread.

Tomorrow I will practice it more and more! Thanks for all your help forum!

Cheers!

Sounds like something I was thinking of trying out at the range until I focused more on the "hip slide" on the transition.

I'm wondering are you loosing any distance with this technique?

and i'm sure this technique does not apply to fairway woods and driver as you are sweeping the woods and hitting the driver on an ascending path correct?

Hey Hacker-I have been trying this all summer and can tell you there is no loss of distance. In fact I have gained 5-10 yards per club at least with better contact. With fairway woods and driver just make sure you widen you stance and slide those hips more forward. I was sailing my driver over the 250 sign at my driving range the other day (not that the yardage is 100% accurate) and have never done that before. Stack & Tilt is a great way to better golf and this and other forums such as GolfEvolution are great tools to help you along!

it applies to every club in your bag. some even use this stance for putting. and no, you don't lose distance if you know how to generate proper leverage through your tempo and using gravity in your swing.

I have gained distance with it and much more consistency in my swing. I went through about 1 1/2 month spell this summer where I could not figure out anything below an 8 iron, but I have been making this change and my scores have dropped steadily as my long irons are now very consistent and are about 8-10 yards longer then they use to be.

Caught a 6 iron extremely well in a round this morning that was gps measured at 184. It is use to be my 160-165 club, and now is my 172-178 club.

Well, today I played 9 holes to prcatice this, as I said I don't have fully incorporated this to my swing, I still need to practice a bit more, but I felt good, didn't miss hit the ball at all, but my distance control suffered. I was a bit short sometimes but the contact felt good, maybe it was caused by the humidity of today. I'm going to keep working on this, I feel that sometimes the movement it's a bit agressive, but I think it's natural cause it's something I was not used to.

Oh yes, and I used it with driver and woods too.

Cheers

I incorporated the weight forward shoulder down hands deep and didn't have to make any adjustments for the woods, off the deck or off a tee. With the woods, there's a more awkward feel, but that's probably due to the length of the clubs.

I have to admit the subset of SnT moves I'm using feels weird, I'm not saying it feels wrong, but weird. But my ballstriking is better and improving - my good shots are better than my good shots before.

I feel like I'm going to hit the ball 30 yards right, but it comes off as a little push and draws, sometimes a little, sometimes alot depending.

So this is what forum members refer to as "STACK & TILT" ? I'm a newbie in the forum so just need to get the terms correct.

I'm definately going to try this after work today. we'll see how it goes.

I made a thread about this a few days ago, "Pre loading the left side at address". This has changed my game. My distance has actually increased, my ball flight and trajectory is much more to my liking, and just my overall contact is greatly improved. Couple this with working on not flipping, the results are fantastic.

The only thing I've noticed, for me, is my turn through impact is lessened because I have so much weight on the left side. It's not very fluid, in my case. But I don't care, the results are 100% better than it was before I started doing this, and my confidence is sky high.

I don't think I'm doing the S&T swing as textbooks says, I¿m trying to use some parts in my swing. I don't know hehe!

no, it's not ''stack and tilt,'' but ''stack and tilt'' is based on swinging in this fashion. EVERY single pro swings like this if you look at them from the caddie view. not so much the deep hands, but the weight forward in the backswing.

first post...

Anyways, I have been receiving lessons lately and this is the first thing I was taught, preload the weight on the left. Since then I have gained yardage and lost my slice, but gained a slight push/draw.
