Saying something isn't out of line as long as it's nothing more than a simple hello. Outside of that, it's out of line unless said person continues on the discussion with you and then you can feel free to be more chatty.

They've spent their entire lives chasing fame and fortune, and now that they have it, they're unhappy with it?

They don't turn down the hot chicks that talk to them, they don't turn down the appearance fees they get at corprate events. They get this because they're famous. They need to learn to take the good with the bad, just like everyone else in the world. I don't like every aspect of my job, but the good heavily outweighs the bad so I live with it. They should learn that skill.

What a coincidence: so tonight i went out with some buddies to a bar which has good specials. i normally don't go out on tuesday but i was like, what the hell why not. we're trying to find a seat on the patio when a short asian guy gets up from a rowdy table directly in front of us and is in my chest area(i'm 6'5''). we'd both had a few so we were like ''oh my bad, man; it's cool.'' when i noticed it was not any ordinary short asian guy, it was AK. i was like, ''what's up AK.'' he then informs me he's going to the bar to get some shots and asks if we want some. so, of course i say ''yeah.'' then we all ended up taking shots and b.s.'ing for a little while. i must say, he was a pretty cool fella. but apparently still loves to party.

I think if its in a personal setting, like they are at a hotel on vacation, or with their kids, or having dinner..maybe leave them alone, but if its in a general setting I see no reason to not saying something nice to them. They are celebrities (some more then others) but they have fans..and they should be appreciative of those fans. I think the younger guys like Bubba would really like fans coming up to him..whereas Tiger would rather have his finger nails pulled out one by one.

Was at a fancy hotel in Maui in the early 2000's and my wife ran right into Alec Baldwin, and later we saw Eddie Murphy with his wife/kids. My wife badly wanted to go meet him, and I told her no, that he was having breakfast with his family..he didn't need to be bothered.

I think there is a time and place. It drives me crazy when you see particular fans "lose their mind" like in the case of Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, etc... I don't get it. Then again, I am not a 12 year old girl.

I've run into Hulk Hogan a few times in the Tampa airport. Usually a "whats up brotherrr" is about all you can get out of him lol

When I was living in Tampa, sometimes I'd fly my daughter back and forth from Atlanta on AirTran. One time, she sat next to Goldberg and talked his ear off. She said he was very nice.

That route is lots of wrestlers and strippers. One time, she flew with Evel Knievel. He wasn't very talkative.

Nicest golfer I've ever met was Bob Murphy. Not so much (and that's being nice), Hubert Green. And then there's the time I chatted with Gary Player for a few minutes at a senior event function and left the conversation wondering what the hell he was talking about. The only time I came upon a golfer by chance was Fuzzy Zoeller in an elevator and he didn't look at me or say a word, just whistled the whole time. Hilarious.

As far as Nick Faldo goes, I would probably acknowledge with a hello and that's it. He seems like he's be rougher than sandpaper to try and chat up.

Well, sort of. He was on my shuttle train between the Orlando Airport arrival terminals and main terminal. I was next to him when I noticed him, but I didn't bother him. I did notice he saw my golf shirt with a course logo and he leaned forward a little to read the name. All I did was say "Hi" and he nodded.

Why not leave him be. He must enjoy his privacy as much as you and I do. Pro's and celebs are just are deserving of thier privacy as you and I are.

My buddy actually works @ a fine dinning resturant here in tampa called burns steakhouse. He always is telling us about how he meet so and so. And how much so and so tips and blah blah blah, I never believed him until one day I was @ the bar there cause he was Bartending rather then Waiting and in the three hours I spent there I saw three guys from the Chiago Blackhawks, Two Lightning players, and Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic.

I had heard that Nick was a little hard to break through with and it was obvious to me. He hung to the sides of the waiting area, went to the corner of the shuttle, and stayed at the fringes of the baggage claim area. I wasn't about to force my way into his personal space. The one guy that did seemed to get shot down in a subtle kind of way.

I will say, I've been in the autograph line while Boo Weekly, Aaron Baddeley, Kevin Stadler, and Kevin Sutherland were signing. Boo was freaking awesome. Kids were asking for balls and gloves but Boo didn't have any. He finally gave his hat up after signing it. That dude has one white head! Bads on the other hand wouldn't give his up after kids were asking for it. I almost said "Come on Bads, give it up for the kids!" Stadler and Sutherland were super cool with the kids, talking to them and having fun.

On another note, I worked at the Super Bowl in Atlanta back in 1994. A friend of mine was working the celebrity door and Michael Jordan walked through.
This was right after Michael's betting scandal. My friend didn't think Michael could hear him and said under his breath "Hey Michael, want to bet on the game?" Michael looked at him, then smiled.

My best experience with a celebrity golfer was with John Daly. There was a small Pro-Pro tournament at Perdido Bay Golf Club when I lived next to the course back in 2002. My wife was pregnant and we were on the way to the hospital for her to be induced. Driving by the club we saw a tour bus and people standing next to it, one with very blonde hair. I told my wife it had to be Daly, and she said to drive by. Sure enough Daly and Heath Slocum were standing there, and my wife jumped out all bubbly and cheerful. I was a little embarrassed until Daly started beeing cool and asking what we were having. Dude has some huge hands!

The only regret I have is that I didn't get him to sign my wife's belly with a sharpie!

I'm not even close to famous and I hate attention from others who I am not GIVING my attention to. It has to be mutual for me. I just hate attention and being famous would SUCK in that respect. Always dealing with people you don't want to talk to.

I will say, I hate it when people don't pay attention to me when I am to them. It's a slap in the face. But I would rather have NO attention from those who I do not know. Unless it's a situation where I want to get to know them.

Here's one example. People on airplanes who feel like they have the right to yap about their life to you. Or just bother the hell out of you with small talk. I just put my ear plugs in and sleep or read.


To answer the question, no way would I, unless it was something that just happened. Like bumping into him or something and apologizing and hitting it off in conversation. But no way would I approach them. Would you approach a random stranger and just start asking them about their life? No.

I was 20 feet from Ray Allen with a whole bunch of kids back in high school. He was in a salon getting a haircut and a lot of the kids went into bother him. I didn't because I knew he wouldn't like it.

My parents were in Bern's back in the 1960s and saw these guys with long hair and scruffy clothes going in and out of a private dining room, and my dad thought that they were going to rob the place.

It was the band The Turtles. They've seen Don Knotts in there on several occasions.

I walked past Craig Stadler in a terminal at O'Hare once. I stopped and looked back after I was far enough away not to be conspicuous, wondering if there could be someone else who looked exactly like Craig Stadler, or if that just had to be him. While I was pondering, someone in a hat with a brand of golf equipment on it walked up and asked to take their picture with him. He seemed cool, and went along with the picture. Couldn't hear the conversation.
