Sigh. One of my friends always does stuf like make a huge fart noise when you bend over to put the ball on the Tee. Or start talking about raunching fluids from body parts while your taking practice swings or talk to you right up until you hit the ball. Just look at them all serious and just say "dude im trying to play you want to give me a mulligan (if they messed you up) or you want to shut up while I swing for the rest of the round". This usually works for me.

I like to turn the key off in my friend's carts. Or put the cart in neutral. They hop in, press the gas.... and just sit there. Hilarity, even the 20th time they do it in the same round.

I play with some old guys who don't hear well. Their watch alarms go off, or they jingle change, or they talk... and they likely honestly don't hear any of it.

Nobody I play with - unless we're all having a gas - would do something like the brake thing and not feel totally stupid and apologize profusely, though.

I have put the cart in neutral or turned the key off as well. When we are in the rough I have even unhooked their bag....when Im not in the same cart (I couldnt do that on a cart path because I dont want to break any clubs). I have knocked a buddies bucket over on the range and even gone as far as leave the reverse alarm on when walking away from the cart.

All of this is fun and games, but nothing but silence is expected when someone is in pre shot routine, or swinging. I can take it and dish it pretty good, but screwing around while your really playing is just terrible.

i think it is stupid that people need to be silent while playing golf. sorry I just find it dumb. Any other sport except tennis noise is part of the game...i love golf and i love golfers but i am sorry this is stupid. don't get me wrong i respect and act accordingly to the game it is just silly.

Take the flag stick and stand behind them while they are putting.... in their back stroke, swing the flag like you were swinging a bat. The flag will make a loud whip sound.... its always good.
