Is it just me or does anyone else find the Slazenger commercials obnoxious? Every time they air one of the commercials I find them to be horrible and make the people golfing look like either aholes or morons depending on which awful commercial is on. sorry for the rant.

I played the RDS Tour ball for two seasons, but Sla stopped making them. I've got 2 sleeves left, and will switch to Gamer v.2 this spring.

Really liked the RDS Tour, but didn't care much for older Sla balls which were like rocks around the green.

I tracked down the ads, were a little edgy. But, anything's better than the Coors Light ads from football season.

Also, the new wave Sla balls have MSRP about 3x $$ per dozen more than older balls.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Yeah... the commercials are pretty annoying... almost as much as the R11 commercial.

I can't stamd these commercials. Espacially the one with the guy who wont shut the f**k up, screaming "let the big dog eat!" and "he got all of that one!"

Yeah, in the real world, that guy would be buried out in the trees to the right of the sixth tee. Try the driver-humping victory dance at your next scramble, just for kicks!

The one that bothers me is the one when the guy is about to put and you hear fore and a ball lands right by the guys on the green.  Now I get they are trying to promote distance but when they do the cut away to the group that hit the shot they aren't all that far away and therefore should not have even hit the shot. To me they are hitting up on another group and well that's a real ahole move.

Very obnoxious , if one of my buddies was that jackass I would be tempted to smash his face in with my driver. Lol lol The part of the commercial that gets me, how did the marketing guys who create it think that putting a clearly obnoxious asshole using their product think it was going to help sell balls ? It makes me glad I don't use their product, not make me want to buy them.

When a company makes a club in the USA I will proudly display their brand here. All of mine were made in china by somebody making $2 a day. Shame on you Mr club manufacture.

He'd be lucky to make it to the sixth hole.

I don't buy there products solely based on their annoying commercials.  That is not how golf should be played yelling at the top of your lungs and hitting into groups.  Disrespectful.

Slazenger used to be a respected golf company, at least they used to make a decent ball in the day.  Certainly, they now seem to be pandering to a whole different element in the golf world.  The obnoxious loudmouths who can't play and who can't dress themselves and the chuckleheads who would thing nothing of hitting into the group ahead.

I don't see how the R11 commercial even compares to the RAW ones. The R11 one is not offensive in any way and is really kind of clever drawing upon a song we all heard as youngsters. Those RAW commercials seem to be trying appeal to ALPHA males in that they feature a group of guys acting like obnoxious a-holes disrespecting the game and ignoring golf etiquette. They seem to be saying if you can bomb it, you can act however you want.

My Tools of Ignorance:

Driver: Ping I20 9.5*
Woods/Hybrids: Cobra AMP 3W and 3 HY

Irons: Cobra AMP 4-GW

Wedges: Callaway Forged Copper 56* and 60*

Putters: Scotty Cameron  35" (Several of the flow neck blade variety)

Ball: Bridgestone B330-RX and Srixon Z-Star

Bag: Nike Performance Carry

the loud mouth in the commercial would get popped before the 3rd hole. the one that really irked me was the one as mentioned above, where the guys in the back hit into the two guys on the green. to those who don't play this sport, they don't know the difference, and think that the commercial is about hitting it long. in reality, it almost seems that slazenger is endorsing things that are against both etiquette and common courtesy, let alone the regard for other's safety on the course. yelling on a golf course? wouldn't be tolerated. hitting into people on a golf course? warrants a boot from the course. why are there no ADULT commercials built towards showing honesty, gamesmanship and responsibility like there is for the first tee?...in the game of golf, that should be information and education that's shared regardless of age. it'd be nice to see that on Golf Channel every once in awhile instead of commercials for slazenger balls.

Well said. It is irresponsible advertising.

    • Played Sunday and implemented the Mayo spinner. Hit my second shot long and left on three to a bare lie. I have seen this shot to a tucked pin but I don’t swing across it enough and hit it too far with a ton of spin but it rolled into the bunker. I pulled my approach short and left on ten to a horrible lie with about 3’ of rise to a tucked pin maybe 5’ on the green. Ball is in a damp lie with debris behind and in front of the ball. Hit it to 3.5’ but horseshoed the putt around the right edge, which was a common miss. I hooked my tee shot into an unplayable lie in the hazard on the left side of the par 5 16th. Hit a great recovery that rolled to about 45 yards short of the back right pin. Hit the spinner over a bumpy green that rolled just over the ridge to 3’. Sank the straight 2.5’ putt. Felt like I had good control of these shots!
