He probably has one of the most enviable swings on tour.

I would love to read your analysis.

If you actually look at his swing in slow motion, it's not as pretty or enviable as it looks in real speed.

We are not analyzing his swing, it just looks cool. We all wish we had nice easy flowing swings, at least I do.

I'm not even talking about analyzing it, it just doesn't look very smooth to me when it's not at full speed.

Freddy has a very cool, laid-back, friendly personality and he has one of the smoothest, easiest swings there is; so he's very easy to like no matter if you are a player or a fan.

His first x-wife commits suicide, then his second wife died of cancer. It all hasn’t been all that easy...

Everyone remembers Deborah Couples's entrance onto the golf scene. It came at the 1983 Kemper Open, seconds after her husband, Fred, had won his first Tour event. Deborah, wearing a cowboy hat and a blue minidress, raced across the green, jumped into his arms and wrapped her legs around his waist. Her exit last week, eight years after her divorce from Fred, was less public. According to the Los Angeles City Coroner's office, on May 26 Deborah jumped to her death from the roof of the Kresge Chapel of the Claremont (Calif.) School of Theology. The coroner's office ruled it a suicide.

One of my favorite quotes from years ago, Freddie was asked how he hits a cut and he says "I think about the ball flying left to right and swing" Awesome he won't have the grey matter between the ears getting in the way with those swing thoughts.

Has he done anything that makes you feel otherwise?  If not, then why even ask the question and just take him for what he is.  A nice guy who plays golf.

He has a nice swing and he seems like a great guy. He is very quiet as well which makes him a mystery for fans, and as fans we like that about a guy. He is easy to cheer for and isn't cocky and jusat has fun playing the game.

I hate that chicken wing arm hanging out there.  Can't figure out how he hits the ball so well with that.

Do you mean on his right side - sticking out and up so he can get his hands high at the top of his swing?

I wasn't sure either, but I assumed it was something to do with Freddie, unlike a lot of guys on this forum, realizing Ben Hogan's was not the only good golf swing in history.

Freddie Couples is a joy to watch on TV. He is from my home state of WA. He also plays gloveless and drives the ball 300 yards at the age of 51.

What's not to like?

When you watch Freddie it seams like hes just taking a stroll in the park, he seams as ease with everything.  Just walking along, arms rocking back and forth always has a smile.  And that swing of his is AMAZING.  And keep in mind he's had back surgery and was out for a bit.

You said that once in one of my threads and I posted a video that I'm pretty sure took the wind right out of that sail...Fred easily has one of the top five most gorgeous swings on tour.  In real time or slow motion.

If not for Freddie's back problems he would have been an all time great and would have been number one over Faldo and Norman without a doubt.  He is an absolute natural.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
