No. Plenty of reasons, and that's well down the list.

I played really well for awhile, but as I played a lot and didn't practice, I started to wander away from where I'd gotten, slightly. I went from shooting 69 at Kahkwa (could have been lower but couldn't have been higher) to hitting far more loose shots than I'm comfortable with and not being entirely certain where my ball would go.

I also lost the feeling I needed to have - the SLAM feeling I talked about in the video in post #160 - so I wanted to get that back quickly.

This video shows the first couple of swings. Honestly I think I'd hit four or five balls to loosen up a little bit and then filmed these swings to see "where I was" - a checkpoint to see how badly I'd regressed. I was happy with how little I'd actually regressed, but still saw that I was off a few degrees here and there.

This is the Tour Striker Pro 7-iron.

This one gets a solid 7/10 for me. It's close enough that I can play good golf, but the occasional "blah" shot creeps up from time to time.

I know what I have to do. Just have to do it now. It's pretty simple, fortunately, and I'm not that far off.

Are the things that you werent happy with evident in these frames.  If they are could you show us what you are still working on?

Sorry I just read the small print at the bottom of the pictures, I think what you were trying to say is that on the way down you want to hold your wrist angle a little longer?  Is that what you are working on?

No, not really. I think that if you read back far enough what I'm working on is pretty clear. It'll result in the wrist angle being held a little bit longer but never, not once, have I "[held] on to the wrist angle a little longer." Has more to do with the depth of the left arm at A5 and the right elbow position. They both need to be out and down in front a little more.

And they're both about 90% better than they used to be.

Can you explain why you aren't following this and what it causes with different angles in that position?

No. From neither angle is that typically true. Virtually everyone has a steeper angle at impact than at setup. The wrists are more uncocked at impact. That's all shaft angle is a measure of, really.

I read back and I see what you are doing, is the position you are looking to hit a product of the sequence of the downswing, or something else?  I think what you said was that it was because of your position at the top of your swing after reading it again.

Wow I thought that was fundamental to a good golfswing, thought swinging in to out was connected with having higher shaft angle at impact. Well doesn't feel so nice working on that for almost 3 months now...

This is just a question out of curiosity for a golfer of your level, but what kind of shots do you consider to be "blah" shots?

Two things are blah: shots that aren't struck really well and shots that leave my cone.

That's roughly the eighth one of those swings I've made since May. Low crisply struck BULLETS!

That's awesome. I wish I was bored enough with my rightie swing to start working on leftie

Looks like fun though. And it probably gets you more "in touch" with some of the challenges your high handicap students face.
