I really only caught the last three holes that D.A. Points and Bill Murray played on Sunday, but I found it to be really entertaining. What a dream win to take down Pebble with Bill Murray quoting the Cinderella Story speech over his last putt. Even if you're not a huge fan of Caddyshack , that moment has to be pretty surreal if you're DA Points and winning for the first time on tour.

I guess I can see how Bill Murray might rub some pros the wrong way out there, but personally, I think its great for the game that he won the Pro-Am and will now get his name etched into their record books.

Phil : Yeah, three cheeseburgers, two large fries, two chocolate shakes and one large coke.
Ralph : [ to Phil ] And some flapjacks!...

Phil : [ to Cop ] Too early for flapjacks?

That you found the event entertaining overall is because you only watched the last 3 holes. Some of us, on the other hand, watch the Saturday coverage. If that's what CBS thinks the average golf fan tuned in for, they are mistaken. And I thought the Kostis/Minolta swing analysis was lame before Saturday coverage . . .

They really seemed to follow the same damn people all day. I was waiting all weekend to see Daly with his new bag, and didnt see him once. I barely saw Murray hit anything until the end.

I saw the fedex CEO, and the guy from Seinfeld, all day long.

It's the exact same coverage every year. Nothing new this year except Bill.  Normally Bill does not make the cut and if he or another celebrity is not at the top of the leaderboard you won't see them on Sunday coverage. Typically Sunday coverage is all Pros trying to win the tournament.

I enjoyed it.  I was fun to watch the celebs get their swing analysis.  It is a very low key tournament as well.  It was better than the other tournament in Dubai.  The announcers for that one should be selling Valium.  I'm yawning,  I'm still yawning,  and  ZZZZZZZZZZ.

For some reason I'm not all that interested in the Pro-Ams.  I'm much more excited for the Northern Trust this week.

As far as I'm concerned, the fawning coverage of Bill Murray made it almost impossible to watch.  The commentators show a "12 marker" hitting a crap shot out of a bunker and then claim to be amazed at how well the shot was played   - "I wish I had a 12 marker like that as a partner"  and another guy who is again, the predictable "about a 12" but" who putts like  a 4 "according to IBF and then you see him putt like a rank beginner.  It might have something to with a culture where people make up their own handicaps becuase they don't play competition golf.

Here's Bill Murray's routine:

One joke.  Hit it. If it's good, be totally deadpan as if it happens all the time. If a chip just misses, throw your club in mock disgust. At all times pretend to treat your caddy like a servant. Drag putts in that are missing. Make sure you wear gardening clothes that make it look as if you're not serious and wear a stupid hat just so that you can be the centre of attention every year. Boring.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

You're selling him short. He has three jokes. 2.) quotes from Caddyshack and 3.) making senior citizens feel as uncomfortable as possible - pushing their buttons until the camera pans away or one of their caretakers intervenes.
