Well in theory that shouldn't be the case at all but I'm guessing you mishit the blades more often than not to create that yardage gap.

Lots of guys (including myself ) think they have a good swing ..... ready to play blades ...... all I can say is that it takes more than thinking you have a good swing.

If your having that big of a gap between a cavity back and a blade, you may want to play cavity backs since you hit them a little better. Playing the Nike VR split cavities, I tried the new pro combo and pro blades and hit them the same distance give or take 3-5 yards longer or shorter for both..

Just get the Titleist CB's

- VR Pro LTD - 9.5 Ahina X

- VR_S 3, 5 woods - Fubuki X

- VR Pro Combo - 3-Pw S300's
nike.gif - VR VRev Wedges - 52, 58

- Method 001 - 34in.

- 20XI-S

........ so all we can advise is to get the Titleist MB's ..... he will grow in them as we all know true blades will make your swing better

I think he should play older Hogans with negative bounce. It's probably all the bounce those Nike game improvement blades have that was slowing him down.

You're a born diplomat.  I for one don't care to see your swing.

Not sure what you mean by "half cavities."

Go to the Nike website and look at the VR Pro family of irons: You can get blades, combos, or cavity. The Combo set has pocket cavity heads for long irons, split cavity for medium, and blade for short irons.

Then, look for a demo day or a golf expo - the Swoosh People are more than willing to let you test them out.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I'm guessing he was referring to the 2010 VR Split-Cavity set.

I would recommend the Nike Slingshots , especially if you are a huge Titleist fan.

    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
