I'm looking at a 14 way divider bag.  Probably going with the Sun Mountain four 5.  Are there any other solid options for a stand bag with full 14 way dividers?  I have a White Taylormade Burner 2.0 bag now and do not like my clubs getting stuck on each other when using a cart.

Looking for suggestions!

Thanks!!!

The Four 5 is a nice bag. My brother uses one and he loves it. The slightly older Ogio bags offer the Woode club management top which isn't exactly a 14 way top but quite nice non the less. If your looking for a cheaper alternative, you could always buy the club tubes that you can insert into your bag creating a 14 way bag.

I have a friend that has the four 5 -  He speaks highly of it.  Its a nice looking bag, too.

Titleist makes a nice 14 way divider bag, but like all Titleist gear, is very expensive!

If you're carrying or for the cart -- it's tough to beat the four-five if you own one bag. The leg closure for carts is a great idea and will save your bag.

Of course, I have an old SM Supercart Lux Bag and a 3.5; so I am looking at the zero g or swift x-g for carry when the time is right.

I have the Woode divider in my Ogio Vaporlite. It's definitely "good enough" and it's better than a lot of the dividers out there at the moment but it's not full length and clubs can still get stuck being taken out or put back in. I like the look of the divider on the Bag Boy Revolver but it looks pricey!

Thank you for the suggestion, I put my bag on C-List.  I may just get some tubes for it if I don't sell it.  That revolver bag is sweet!  I don't know that I want a full time cart bag, i'd rather have the option to carry.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the suggestion.  That is a sharp looking bag!  I might have to check it out.  The only downfall is it doesn't have the full dividers.  I imagine it works better than the bag i have now.

If you ride make sure you get a 2011 and newer Four 5.  They have the cart friendly bases.  The older ones don't and, consequently, don't fit well in riding carts.

Also - Titleist bags are made by Sun Mountain so they're the exact same bag except for the Titleist logos and the carrying straps.

I went out yesterday and looked at the Sun Mountain bags -  They are great, and the product looks superior to the other bags that the big name brands slap their name on!

I agree the Sun Mountain Four 5 carry bag is probably one of your best options I hear a ton a good reviews from golfing buddies on this one. But another option you could always look at Swift X carry bag or Nike Performance carry both look pretty good.

I like the cooler pocket on the Nike.

I have an older ogio edge.  I use the tubes to keep the clubs separate.  Now I need to anchor the tubes down so they don't start to come up when taking a club out.  Even my putter grip grabs on a fold of cloth about 8" down.  I'll keep modding the bag until it is perfect. Do I need to work on a smooth(er) club withdraw motion?

It depends on where you expect a club to be when reaching for it. I looked at bags yesterday (Golf Town - Red Deer) and other than the SM four5, the only ones I liked were either a club brand I don't care to promote, or the divider arrangement was just plain ridiculous.

I have an OGIO Syncro that's I bought last year and it has 15 slots with an external putter well.  It might be a 2009 model but I'm not sure.  I love the way it looks and the pocket arrangement is OK but not overly spacious.  The zipperless ball pocket is great and one of my favorite features.  But here's some negatives that I've encountered and you should consider when looking at 14 ways.

1.  The club slots are too small.  I use jumbo grips and I'm constantly snagging my clubs taking them in/out of the bag.

2.  The external putter holder is strategically placed to push my mallet putter head against the graphite shafts of my hybrids.  I have to be real careful how the hybrids are positions to be sure the head cover protects the shafts or leave the slot open next to the external putter holder.

3.  The separate club dividers still don't keep the grips from adjacent clubs from snagging on each other which gets worse if I put too much in the pockets....like my XXXL rain suit.

In retrospect, I wish I had gone with Woode system or a larger 14-way cart bag.  My next cart bag is going to the biggest son of a b%*

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
