I would guess golfer tries to hit the ball higher, point his belly at the sky?

Obviously the guy is swinging his arm/club unit very rigidly, keeping that wrist angle, so that the clubhead stays away from his body and returns to the ball in a bigger circle. And the fourth swing with the forward ball, it looks to me like he relaxes the wrists a little, and focuses more on the forward ball which would give you a steeper angle. If I want to hit a long iron super high, I would move the ball forward, and the steeper attack would give the ball the necessary backspin to travel higher. I could also hit a steep, spinning approach shot with my lob wedge by moving the ball back in the stance too. It all depends on the focus of the golfers swing, and the level of looseness/lag in the wrists, I'd say.

With the ball that far back in the stance, the flying wedge would be lost pretty early otherwise he would literally miss the ball, so the angle of attack is much less. Alternatively I suppose he could still have some shaft lean while keeping is weight so far back, but that would be hard to do and his weight is pretty centred for every swing to keep it as a controlled variable.

Not sure what you mean by "pointing his belly at the sky". His shoulders look very closed at impact, so he can't really face his belly upward very much. And that's after impact.
