Speaking of past competitors...does anybody know how Petey (from the last season of Big Break)'s career has been coming along?  The Indian dude that got booted, then brought back, then eliminated again.

although i do agree with you on the matchup i feel as if this season if anything is about knowing how to be creative, and having the feel for the game to cope with the conditions. you cant have little golf skill and still be able to hit a thin fairway or green a shot with 30-40 mph winds. or hitting those fulls shots the same distance while trying to keep the ball low. gotta land the ball precisely in a spot where you know you have enough room for the release, or it will just roll for days. also being able to putt from up to 60 feet from off the green is quite impressive. phil would do fantastic cause he can putt from just about anywhere. irish/scottish links golf is pure golf. although id love to play it, it would be a dream, idk if i have the confidence in my putter yet to will myself to an even half decent score. you saw it alot this show. making putts during the tough conditions and making good reads. takes focus and mental strength. thats kinda why i think mark can win this. hes a straight brawler against the course. sending haymakers. but julian isnt far off..we saw that lastnight. its gonna be a good matchup and i think it could pan out to be more emotional and intense than the show has been over the past few weeks

Wow. Canadians have game. Derek Gillespie made some moves too and won PEI.

If Julien wins, I think I've figured out the secret to winnings these co-ed Big Break seasons now ....

Who are your favorite past Big Break contestants?

Mallory Blackwelder:
I'm good friends with Sara Brown. I grew up with Taryn Durham. It was fun for me to watch that season because I knew a lot of them. I didn't watch too much prior to that. I did watch Indian Wells and was happy to see David Byrne win. he seems like a great guy.

Per capita, no, we really don't. We're a winter sports nation, and even then countries like Finland and Sweden produce top end hockey talent at a higher rate. Canada claims to have more "avid" golfers than any other country, but compare our production of top golfers to a country like Australia. I wonder how the top 100 Canadians would fare against the top 100 Aussies? What if we got pit our top 100 against their 1000th through 1100th ranked players. I might plunk a $2 coin on Canada in that event . . . might.

Oh that. Yeah, our winters are very long and cold so we learn at a young age that doubling up increases our survival rates.

Still waiting to see some good golf from these two. They have shown flashes, but to say either one of them has a chance on any sort of tour is a joke from the terrible golf I have seen. Anyway, should be a fun final show to watch.

Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated

Considering Julien won the top prize already, I say he should throw his match against Mark.

Now, from the preview it sounds like there's going to be an 18 hole final.  That's awesome, I've been waiting to just see lots of golf from these guys.   Anyone know if its match or stroke play... (Julien's gonna get plenty of stroke play already.. oh yeah!..)

I dunno if she's a gold digger, but I think she's far more likely to be dating the winner than the runner-up. Also, I'm going with the Twitter theory (used to success by someone here for BB Indian Wells) to say Julien wins it. He's been very active over the last few weeks.

i figured julian had a better chance to win only because last week he played very strong...he looked confident.

mark has the heart and will to win it....they both have self destructive tendencies as well. which from the commercials...seems to be very much possible to happen. which one though, that im unsure of..

    • Why should SuperSpeed get 3x of Stack's profits? I get the part about SuperSpeed wanting damages sustained as a result of Stack, but I don't get why SuperSpeed feels that they're entitled to both Stack's profits and damages.   Does anyone know/think SuperSpeed actually has a case here?
    • https://static1.squarespace.com/static/603d222df4a6a57df7ef3e29/t/663cdba5d89e3a1848dab8d1/1715264422455/US_DIS_ILND_1_24cv3749_d34676497e293_COMPLAINT_filed_by_SuperSpeed_Golf_LLC_Jury_Demand.pdf The full complaint is there, but  basically, SuperSpeed (SS*) is claiming the Stack System (SS*) Stack System’s [sic] produces inflated metrics later used to, [sic] mislead and deceive consumers. Stack System’s marketing materials inflate apparent swing speed and distance gains through selective presentment of data without qualification that purported gains are not the result, in whole or part, of its training protocol and products. * Yes, I'm joking about abbreviating both "SS." SuperSpeed wants: A judgment that the Stack System has disseminated false and/or misleading information in violation of federal and Illinois law. The deletion of all false advertising distributed and recall of all packaging containing false advertising and a requirement that Stack System issue notices (written or otherwise) to that effect to all current distributors and retailers of its products and all distributors with whom Stack System has done business in the past eighteen months. Written confirmation within 30 days of an injunction detailing the manner and form in which Stack System has complied. An order that Stack System disseminate corrective advertising informing consumers, the trade, and the public of Stack System’s unlawful conduct. 3X all profits received by Stack System as a result of its unlawful actions. 3X all damages sustained by SuperSpeed (as a result of Stack System’s actions) The cost of the action All reasonable attorney fees All other relief to which SuperSpeed are entitled and such other or additional relief as just and proper. Oy.
    • I'm not doing this for the hundred and twentieth time. Sorry in advance, but you get the massively abridged version. Those guys also benefited from the weaker/shallower fields. Also, Watson's career doesn't overlap with Jack's like many think it did. Tom is nearly a decade younger. Jack won only like four majors only after Tom won his first. And Tom won more British Opens than he did all three of the other majors combined, as it was his specialty (not Jack's). Arnie's career similarly doesn't overlap Jack's as much as many think.   Jack would also tell you Tiger was the better golfer.
    • Weaker depth of fields for sure. Some of the top level guys with Jack were pretty awesome. Tom Watson had the lead on the 72nd hole of the 2009 British Open, an event where Tiger missed the cut. Old Tom was almost 60 years old. Jack himself at age 58 finished Top 10 at The 1998 Masters and scored better than Tiger, who won The Masters by 12 shots just a year before that.   The success of both Tom & Jack in older age gives some hope that maybe Tiger can find the magic again at some point. He’s still trying to figure out how to build the stamina for 72 holes after the leg injury. I would love to see him jump on the leaderboard in the coming years. I know a lot of people have given up on him at this point, but that was also true from 2014 to 2017 with the back injuries. He had a hell of a resurgence in 2018 & 2019. Would be fun to see it again.
