Pause it at impact. Notice how square your hips are. You are just banking and shifting weight. Getting a bit of extension and pointing that BATMAN belt buckle to the sky would help shallow things out as well.

Keep at it.

Yeah, I focus hard on the banking because I have a tendency to lift my trail heel right away. A problem I have with my winter practice is no height so I'm restricted to a very sawn off followthrough, ball comes off the club face very low, punchy. Trying to get the BATMAN feel would cause me to slam the club into the rafters...

You and I got the similar feel going on. I can't work with any sort of wrist hinge at all. Its horrible, I rather slam my head into a wall then try to hinge earlier. Though I do find that if I set my wrist slightly before taking the club back, and trying to hold that angle in my wrist longer (delaying the forearm rotation), that seems to work more for me. If you see Matt Kutchar swing you will notice he does something similar, were he will fall back to his heels, but also slightly lift the club vertical before taking it back. I tried that Kutchar thing the first time and was like, "Ok slightly less annoying than the hinge the wrist during the backswing, but still feels wierd". Then I looked on video and saw, "

It iss tough to get the whole, the hands don't create depth, rotation does.

Yep. I was trying a "thumbs up" feel at A3 but it causes me to lift my arms and lose all connection.

Alright, I'll play It's difficult to answer this question with any kind of definitive reply. I am trying to change something so there's a lot of experimentation going on with backswing feels as I try to find something that gets me steeper without sacrificing too much depth AND puts me in a comfortable position at A4 where I feel I can make the proper moves in transition.

In this particular practice session I was "feeling" as if I was keeping the club face looking at the ball on the way back, it seems to help a tad with getting a more upright backswing although I also tend to be a little too closed (club face) with this feel.

PS: I never told you to eff off, I told you about my horrible facial wounds and how they made me uncomfortable with posting FO videos. I did, admittedly, call you obtuse (or was it daft?) based on your previous posts but , hey, even you gotta admit that your arguments in the pitching thread were pretty ridiculous, I mean seriously, we posted pictures and you still didn't get it, maybe you were closing your eyes?

In any case, if you have something useful to post in this thread, I'm all ears, but if it's just more McTips they better come with fries and a drink.

Has anything changed from the post # 1 FO swing ? My impression is you are still struggling with a big left shoulder dip and  reverse pivot.IMO what you described in this current post is not helping that situation at all,at all.

Try this and see if there is any different sensation to this point:

1-club in hands, club head  off the ground

2-standing tall/straight up

3-legs straight,no knee bend

4-bend at waist

5-bend knees

6-cupped left wrist(club head not touching the ground)

7-make a very slow one piece hand and arm takeaway maintaining that cupped angle in the left wrist(club head still a few inches above the ground) allowing club face to go where it wants until hands reach a tad past the right thigh.

.....anything feel different.

Same old story, hips facing ball at impact not rotated 45+ degrees toward target like pros so a bad weight shift. Here is you at impact, the others are famous pros, see their hip rotation by impact? Even a fat old guy 55 can get hips cleared LOL So that's what u need to copy Good hip rotation

No argument there, my hips are still too closed/square at impact, hasn't become my top priority piece yet though.

I'd also point out that you're looking at a swing from 3 years ago, although my hips are still too square to this day, I'll give ya that.

impactswing...this is a little bit like telling someone to have dance rhythm...if you don't have it,you don't have it.With golf however there are mechanical steps that can get you there.

Went to a simulator last night. Played like crap, lots of huge pushes to start. Once I settled down a bit I was hitting great shots wedge thru 7iron but anything longer than that I just wasn't getting any distance at all. I over swing and get way out of sequence with the longer clubs. It's frustrating because with the scoring clubs I have no problem making a nice, tidy, easy little swing that gives me perfect distance for the club but I get all out of joint with a longer club in my hand. I had a blast anyway. I love golf and winter is almost over!!!

On the plus side (no pun intended) my path was consistently inside-out the whole round. Face control was pretty wild though.

Honestly I find face control to be more a post impact feel. Meaning unless your getting the reverse roll with the left hand feel during transition or at the top of the backswing, I find it very hard to feel anything through impact. Its just way to fast. The only feedback I can get is in the finish. Basically do my arms feel bunched like I pulled the club inside. Things like that. Of course this is just me, but I find any sort of feedback usable it changing the image.

So are you gonna go to watch my soccer game? I think we play at 7:35 or so. :-)

It's a seven-hour drive, right?

It's about 10 minutes away. You have my cell (I think - if not it's here ). Call me when you're about an hour out. Maybe we'll grab dinner.

Good luck with the visit! Don't listen to anyone who says to focus on just one thing at a time. To make the most of your time in Erie, you should work on all 5 keys simultaneously with every swing. Full speed swings only. Your time there ain't unlimited. :)

    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
