Its just a 9 hole course.  But it is very tight. Widest fairway is 30 yards, most are 20-25. Lake of Egypt CC,Marion, IL.

Ballybunion is at the top of my favorite course list, ever played.

If I recall, this photo is looking down at the 17 fairway?

Thanks for sharing, brings back great memories.

I was at home awaken by a text from my boss asking if I wanted to play Bali Hai 25 mins before they tee'd off. After jumping out of bed and getting to the course this is what I was greeted with. Nice course right on the strip & awesome staff running the place. [IMG] [/IMG]

I've been playing quite a bit of Links golf over here of late.

Several trips to Corballis Links, a public course that will set you back 10-15 euros.... Has to be the best value for golf anywhere.

It's next door neightbour, The Island Links, will set you back 100-150.

It's a short course, Par 66, with 6 Par 3's but it's an excellent test of golf.

Here is one of the par 3's.

Also got to play The European Club last Friday in an Open Competition.

The first counting (for HC purposes) competition of 2014 and my 36 stableford points earned me a 0.3 HC reduction.

The winner had 38 points, the Pro said anything over 30 points out there is a good score, I was delighted with my 36pts (88 strokes) until I seen Tigers card with 67 hanging up in the clubhouse. :-D

Parred the Index 1 that Jack Nicklaus rates as one of his Top 100 golf holes too ;-)

Didn't get a proper photo of the place but here's on that I found

8:00 AM this morning, March 26 in Philly . . . winter rules, anybody?

Too funny - just swung through there about an hour ago. Awesome what the sun can do in just a few hours. Hopefully last night's dusting was a fond farewell to winter weather - time to tee it up!!

You guys really put the ancy in fancy.

If I ever get a camera out on the course, I'll try to get you the Cargill corn syrup plant looming on the horizon at my home track.

    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
