I'm having a terrible time keeping my face square through the stroke. I keep closing the face and pulling the ball (almost feels like im hooking it). Has anyone had the this problem? And if so, how did you fix it?
Also, just an fyi, my stroke is sound. I've had that checked. I just need a way to quite my hands

My buddy switched up his grip for a little bit and would hold his wrist at the top of his putter and he said it help him keep his putts on line. I tried to find a photo of it and found something pretty similar, but my buddy doesn't seem to have his hands so far apart. If you click the link, he uses a similar grip to the one called the BERNHARD LANGER'S GRIP.

Without seeing your stroke here are 3 things to check for.  First is that the handle is slightly forward and not back, that will add loft and tend to make putts start left.  Also:

I agree, I use left hand low, it really helps to keep the hands quiet.

Instead of left hand low, which I tried, I found a grip that works better for me. Hey, it also works for Zach Johnson, Vaughn Taylor, and several other Touring Pros. It allows the advantages of left hand low without feeling so weird.

Pat has a good DVD for only $20 on his site.

FWIW, after reading Dick Stockton's book, he and Pat have some similarities as to set up -- neutral -- but Pat does not buy into a forward press. Good stuff. Pat is all about getting everything neutral - body, putter, grip, etc. so the stroke is simple -- square to the target line.

Try one handed putting (4-footers) with your trailing hand as a drill.

Helps me focus on club face alignment and putting 'through' the ball, not at it.

    • Well, I just got back from 7 days straight of golf in Las Vegas.  I've played all three courses at Paiute Golf Resort. Normally I say that the Wolf course is my favorite, but I do really like Snow Mountain as well. I'll say this, all three courses are really great there. You can't go wrong by playing Paiute.  Then I played a tournament at Bear's Best. Been playing that tournament for like 15-16 years now. We've only been at Bear's Best for the last 10, before that we were at Prime Valley. It was a great tournament. For some reason my head fell off during my Saturday round to take me totally out of contention. I also hit a piss-poor tee shot on the 4th hole of the horserace to take my partner and I out of that.  I hit some really great shots during the tournament. But you don't win tournaments by hitting great shots. You win tournaments by making low scores. Which I simply wasn't able to do.  It was great, and now only 357 more days until next year's tournament.
    • One that comes to mind ... #2 Jasper Hills GC, par 3 Naturally this one was to save par.  Hit two awful shots to find myself on the very front of this fairly large size green. The hole was in the back, left corner with a decent amount of right to left break. I'd only be guessing what the actual distance was, but it was easily over 50 feet. There was so much bend on the back end of the putt that it just seemed really unlikely until the last few seconds when it broke back to the hole, hit the stick dead center and dropped.
