How in the hell do you people in Florida play golf with freaking ALLIGATORS wandering around next to the green?  I think I would feel way more pressure the entire time thinking I'm about to get eaten than I ever would in a tournament or playing for money.

EDIT:  Or did I mean to say crocodiles?  I'm not sure if I know the difference.

Gators. Crocs are South America.

Gators don't bother you. If they're in the water & they see you, the submerge & head the other direction. If they're sunning on a bank they're just trying to warm up (cold-blooded).

Now...if you got a little dog, that's a different story. Gators call that dinner.

There are plenty of crocodiles in southern Florida too. Probably not as far north as Orlando I guess. Got used to telling the difference from the kayak when I was fishing as it was sometimes important to know which one you were facing (though they're both great at coming to the kayak to steal the fish).

Sheesh...that's not even one piece of luggage.

BUT...stay away from the baby gators, cuz mama's nearby, and she don't play!

The gators are starting to move around already.  Had an 8 footer cross the fairway in front of me today, going from one pond to another.  The thing is, the first pond was on the other side of some houses and a busy street.

Gators on the golf course are no big deal.  When they walk down your sidewalk, it gets a little weird. Took this photo last year in front of the neighbor's house:

For some reason, your picture didn't show up here.  Bummer.

At one of the courses I play at there is frequently a coyote hanging out in back of the 2nd green.  He never has bothered me, but I always make sure I have a club in my hands, just in case.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

When I played at Kiawah island, there were plenty on the course. I told myself if I hit one anywhere near them, I'm dropping far far away! I know they leave people alone, but I'm just not used to seeing them and they scared the hell out of me.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
