Well, IMO either can easily be a source of slow play. You just hope the two aren't combined. Meaning that if they do one of them slowly, they perform the other action quickly to compensate.

I dont play with *rich snobs*, I play with people that know how to move on the golf course. Of the group I am in, I am the only one that is generally home every night - so that 4 hours on Saturday morning is all the other guys can spare before they need to be home and spend some time with their families.

I apologize if this question offended you and if you are president of the Kevin Na fan club - I just put out a question that so far is evenly split on poll responses. Personally, watching him line up like he did on every shot would annoy me (and yes, it might be because I would like to hit my provisional before the next group is on the tee box.)

Slow play comes from people wasting time doing things they don't need to do. Possibly it's overanalyzing simple shots (like layups or pitch outs) but most likely just doing everything more slowly than they should. When someone is in the middle of a task where etiquette dictates everybody else in the group should not proceed until they're finished, then any undue delays are rude and annoying. I'd love to play a round with Kevin Na once, but probably just once and if a 12 handicapper had his mannerisms I'd probably rather not be in that group.

I know people who are probably just as slow to set up to their ball and much slower once they actually put their ball in play.  He would be fine in my foursome for the most part, I imagine.  I played a 6-hour round of golf in my last club event.  Kevin Na was nowhere to be found in front of me...just some hackers putting it in the hazard and topping it every other shot, and then looking for their ball for 5 minutes.  On top of that, we were backed up 3 groups deep at a par 3, and the 2nd group to wait (just before my group) had about a half hour to make club selections, but didn't do so until the group before them actually cleared the green.

This thread is ridiculous. For those of you booting a PGA tour pro out of your foursome, send him to mine. I'll gladly ditch one of my friends for the opportunity to play with a pro.

Na was subjected to cruel comments and brutal heckling from a PGA Tour gallery....they behaved in a disgraceful fashion toward a guy who is struggling with a serious mental issue bordering on OCD...

and apparently the PGA Tour and course security did nothing about it...

throughout his hellish final round and throughout the entire week Na handled himself in a professional manner ....I had always heard that Na was something of a jerk but after seeing him at the presser speaking candidly about his condition and the outrageous way he was treated by some in the galleries I am now a newly minted Kevin Na fan...

I agree with letting Kevin Na play with me, I'd love to play a round with almost any pro (though if I had to get picky, I'd prefer Padraig Harrington or Mickelson), but you don't sound like the best friend...

He wouldn't because I don't play foursomes, why would you expose yourself to such cruel torture? Maximum 3 and more preferrably 2 people in a flight imo ;).

Depends, would taking long to get the number and pick the club, that wouldn't fly. Our groups really practice ready golf, so we get very decisive on a number quickly and decide the club we want quickly. If your standing over the ball calculating numbers, and deciding between 4-5 shot types, we might have an issue. If its becuase of a tick he can't control, then there is sympathy. I know what he's gone through, i had a stretch were i couldn't feel the club in my backswing. i would take the club to the top of my swing and just drop it because it felt horrible. Its a horrible feeling, i couldn't think of not being able to even start a backswing, that is nuts. So i have some personal sympathy for him in this. Honestly if i was a casual player, i would really isolate who i play with, my dad would be sympathetic, but i wouldn't try to pair up with anyone until i worked it out. I know he can't he hast o make a living, and he can almost win tournaments with his play. But would honestly take half a year off to get it fixed, espeically after winning over 500K this past week.

I can't help but wonder why belligerent disorderly fans aren't removed from the venue, when just taking a picture or having a cell phone ring can result in the same penalty?  I work the LPGA ShopRite Classic, and they have goons that will escort people out for taking pictures of the pros AFTER THEIR ROUNDS at the autograph line. Surely that is not one fraction as egregious as shouting "Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!" after Kevin hit his ball in the water????

Ohhhhhhhhhh man I completely agree with this. He is such an ******* (excuse my language) it's unreal. Even after the tournament when he was interviewing Kuch, all he would ask was how difficult it was to play with Na even though Kuch assured him it didn't affect him and it was fine. He somehow knows exactly what Tiger has to do to get better apparently is a body language expert? This is something I learned this week. Seriously GC, if you read this, get that guy off the show. He dumps on the golfers, never heard him say a single positive thing about a golfer.

Brandell Chamblee is fast becoming hated by a lot of people. Not to mention the players that he constantly rips on.

I totally agree, TGC needs to get rid of him.

I agree. I'm a big jerk for for deciding that I wouldn't pass up the likely once in a lifetime opportunity to have a tour pro join my foursome for a round. While I'm on a roll, since there won't be room in your foursome for Padraig and Phil, send em to mine and I'll send all my friends home for this round.

So I guess the first time Jack Nicklaus stood motionless over a four foot putt for a length of time deemed too long by your foursome you'd tell him to take a hike too, eh?

After all, that can be pretty annoying...holding up a group and all...

If you wouldn't find all Na's antics annoying enough to take a pass on playing with him, then good for you. I'm on the fence but suspect I'd find a way to bite my tongue and play. Many apparently would pass on the "opportunity".

I would revel in the opportunity to play with any tour pro. Without hesitation.
