NO, you cannot see them.

Do those with larger than average boobs make adjustments in their swing? Or at address? Or at all?

New golfer here, any input is appreciated.

Thank you!

I wouldn't normally comment on a thread like this, but in case you are asking a legitimate question, maybe take a look at Katherine Roberts setup and see what you can emulate:

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR5CcEf6i2aPD1vM_B9_D-DwqxoQsdL233RFh1qIPrRFmJa8W7b-A

Also, as a man with a large muscular chest, I don't find any difficulty in setting up properly, and muscle is harder to squish than what girls have.  Anything there should help you feel your left arm connection better.  Build pectoral strength if needed.

I appreciate the reply. I'll look more into Katherine Roberts. Are there any LPGA golfers who have a larger than average chest I can look into for videos?

I know, this all sounds really bad and perverted, sorry. I promise I am a female genuinely trying to learn and I personally don't know any female golfers to ask about this issue. I'm seeing my instructor this Saturday but I'm embarrassed to ask. Screw it, I should just ask!

If I'm properly swinging on the correct plane and rotating my torso correctly, should I even be having a problem? Assume my chest is not as squishable as other females.

Natalie Gulbis is the LPGA Tour player you need to check out.

OMG, Christina has really gotten big everywhere. I watched her hit a few this past weekend, and it did seem that at address her hands were a little further away from her body than normal..

Great thread!

Haven't you seen Holly Sonders on The Golf Channel? She is also in several instruction shows about the golf swing, etc.

She can't even see her feet.

I'm actually interesting in hearing a response from a teacher who has been asked this question before because my wife wonders the same thing.

The part of the swing where it can cause issues, I'm assuming, is getting into the correct position at the top of the backswing, right?

Can you guys try your hardest NOT to give every other male a bad reputation? C'mon.

Very disappointing.

I see my instructor this Saturday. I'll ask him and get back to you.

That's what I'm thinking, the top of the backswing, but I'm not confident enough to say that's where I should be having problems because I'm so new to this.

Thank you for the info! I could relate more to this figure than Christina Kim's although I'm not sure if weight/figure affects swing also. Does it?

It's not so bad actually, I'm appreciating peoples' replies. Thanks for looking out :)

I found it difficult to ask without being too vague and too detailed.

I've found a bunch of videos on youtube on Holly Sonders golf swing, for you to check out. I can't really tell if her posture, or address, or during her swing, that I can tell if she actually changed anything, when she got her new boobs. (When she was in college, they were normal sized, and her swing looks the same?)

Look here at all these videos...

I think it's a two-part thing:

  1. On the bright side, you shouldn't be able to overswing quite as easily.
  2. Unless your breasts are so high that you can rest your chin on them (or nearly that high), you should be able to swing up over the top of them. Look at a PGA Tour player at the top of his backswing (http://thesandtrap.com/t/58201/top-ten-players-in-the-world-at-a4). If they had breasts, their lead arm would be well above them, and it wouldn't be so tight to the chest that it would even squeeze the top of their breasts.

I just shoved a rain jacket down my shirt to simulate a left breast and didn't have any real problems making a standard backswing.

Natalie Gulbis doesn't have large breasts but they're pushed up quite a bit and she still gets her left arm above them (even though she really gets that left arm tight across her collarbones - most golfers want more of an angle there, providing even more space):

LOL- thank you for the research (the rain jacket thing)

Thank you! Your point #2 plus the photos above really explain a lot.

    • I think if I could hit a 2nd shot when I did not like the result from the 1st I am sure I would get some lower scores.  I guess the idea is to mentally put yourself in a position where you need to make a really great shot, not just a good shot.  For example, hitting from the lie next to the creek his 1st chip was, in my view, pretty good but it was not "Great" in his opinion so he tried to do better on the mulligan, but he failed and was farther from the hole. I see myself doing this more on the range.  For example, after a period of practice I will mentally say I need to hit 4 good shots in a row.  I start with a Driver and if that is good then I do a 3 Hybrid followed by a pitch with a wedge and finally by a short chip.  If any shot is "Bad" I have to start over.
    • That’s how I interpreted it. You’re giving yourself two mulligans on every shot. Yea it’s just a variation of getting used to scoring low. I’m curious how valuable that practice is. I guess for some people they feel mounting pressure from playing a string of holes well? I’m kind of the complete opposite TBH. Once I start putting together good holes, I get a little swagger and if anything I get overconfident. I start thinking I can hit the green from anywhere, I can hit my driver to the smallest of targets, and everything inside of 10’ is going in. None of that is true, of course, and I inevitably will hit a miss that brings me back down to earth.

    • I saw this video yesterday, couldn't figure out what he meant, then saw this thread and thought "oh maybe someone knows what he was talking about" and you guys are in the same place as me.  I *think* what he's suggesting is that you play a game such that going low is expected. He said there are different variations of it. I think his variation is you get three goes at a shot. You hit your first shot and it's good enough, then you just take it. If it's not good enough then you can abandon that shot and play another. If you still don't like it, you can hit it a third time, but then you're stuck with it. He's good enough that three goes at a shot ought to give him one that's good enough to move on. He did mention his parameters for what counts as "good enough", although I do note that he should have hit a third go on that pitch from the hazard based on that. He holed the putt though so it worked out in the end. I think if you're not as good as he is (which let's face it is everyone here and virtually everyone on the planet), then you'd adjust those rules to make it such that you might manage to make 5 birdies in a row. So maybe you play a two ball scramble with yourself and if you don't like either one then you can abandon those and hit a third or you play a three ball scramble or whatever it is that you need to make your standard work.  At its base though, it's just like going out and playing from the front tees or playing a scramble with yourself. The goal is to gain comfort with making lots of birdies and going way under par, so that when you find yourself in that situation in a real game, you don't panic. It's an interesting variation and if I ever got to play "for fun" at my home course, then I'd definitely try it.
