Moving the needle? Maybe a little, keep winning and she will start to draw attention.

For me, Michelle playing made me not only tune in, but watch it over the men this week. A final round with Wie is more interesting to me than a 3rd round of the tournament after the Masters...

Ditto. Then again, I didn't watch the men on Sunday either. :)

I rarely go out of my way to watch an LPGA event (although I will if nothing else is on) but I have to admit I was very excited to tune in on Saturday knowing Wie was in contention. Great win by her and hoping to be able to see her play more this season.

Even as a huge golf fan, there is just something not exciting about it the week after the masters. It's like the bar gets raised so much that week and now we are back to earth.

Hopefully Michelle and Lexi will keep playing well, think it would be great for the tour and women's golf in general.

I'd love to see a friendly rivalry between Lexi and Michelle. it would great for golf, and hopefully get the LPGA more $$$ for better purses, and of course a much larger audience.

There is no reason Michelle shouldn't win a lot the way she is playing now. She was hitting the ball 57 yards further with driver in the last final round. That's 5 clubs difference on approach shot! And her putting has been solid. As mentioned earlier, Lexi is the other power hitter, these two really should pull ahead because they can hit shots others can't, and we all remember what happened last time someone (tiger) showed up and could do that.

Huge Michelle fan here.  Admittedly I did not read the entire thread so I apologize if my point was made before.

I have the utmost respect for Michelle finishing her degree.  That can never be taken away from her and I hate that all of the golf pundits gloss over that accomplishment.  She had millions of dollars worth of pressure to leave college and I suspect she would never have returned.  And even if she had it would be different.  College IMHO is about so much more that an education.  it is about being young and experimenting with life and finding out who you want to be.  Michelle did that and I think she will be a better person in the long run.

Great win for Michelle Wie. It sems like she is enjoying playing the game now and comfortable with herself these days. Im pretty bummed out that I wont be able to go check her out in person at the Swing Skirts this weekend.

“I did it like about two years ago, year and a half ago now. … just something that I felt feel comfortable with,” Wie said. “I haven't had a plan to keep with it or not keep it. Just feels comfortable and I see the line better.”

Her putting style was not inspired by Jack Nicklaus, who in his prime bent over his putts to see the line, Wie said.

“I practice at the Bear's Club and there are pictures of Jack everywhere.,” Wie said. “I saw a picture of him like putting and I was like, Oh, he is actually pretty low as well. I don't feel that bad anymore.”

Michelle will need to get really hot, and Ko, really cold,  if Michelle has any chance at current tourney, Swinging Skirts.  Wie is about 7 shots back of Ko in middle of 3rd round.

As sad as this sounds, I would only ever watch the LPGA tour if the number one player in the world was also the hottest golfer on the LPGA. Michelle Wie doesn't quite cut it for me.

A lot of men, myself included watch the LPGA because there are a lot of attractive women on tour these days. I find Wie very good looking and just one of many talented, pretty women worth watching for their golf skills. Frankly I'd rather watch a good LPGA tournament than a bland PGA event minus the top names like the weeks following the Masters.

Has Wie's swing changed? Her short backswing and short follow through on irons seems new, or maybe I just wasn't paying attention before.

I would have to disagree with you...    I think Michelle Wie is incredibly H-O-T.

1. I find Michelle Wie to be attractive.
2. The LPGA must have the biggest smiles on their faces with Lexi, Wie, and now Ko winning. The 3 most exciting players in women's golf right now IMO. (also Creamer won earlier in the year)
3. Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson are both playing at the Texas Shootout next week. Another 1, 2, finish sounds good to me!

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
