When you start a new identity it is better to keep the first post really long and esoteric. :-)

It's just a game. A game of a single player against a golf course. No one else can affect your game (unless you are tuned into an ego or criticism that you can't let run down your back and ignore).

The funniest thing, and I'm not any better than an honest bogey golfer on most days, is that 99.999999 % of the posters here don't make their living playing golf. It would be nice to, but it's not what these forums are for. They are for the weekend golfer trying to communicate and learn something that may help their game, that's all.

I've said it before and will say it again, Leave the Ego at the Car, and go play the Game of Golf. 99.999% of all the posters here, if they were to play a sanctioned PGA course and play strictly by the rules would never hit their posted/honest handicap. Even Pros don't hit par golf on every outing. The top 150 professional playing golfers are less than 4 strokes apart at the end of the year when averaging all of their PGA sanctioned rounds. Think of that, less than 4 strokes difference in the average round of golf for the top 150 golfers. It just comes down to who's playing the best on any given day, same as in all sports.

Enjoy the game, that's what it is. Try to do better? Sure, why not. Self improvement in anything is a real enjoyment. But to fret and frown that you did not make a par or had a double bogey is stupid. Watch enough golf tournaments and you'll see the pros with bogeys, double bogeys, triple bogeys, hell I've seen a 12 scored on one hole, on a pro tour, on TV.

People are enamored with golf, the pros, the hype. But it's just a game for 99.9999% of all of us posting here. Go and enjoy your game, that's what it was created for hundreds of years ago and remains the very same for 99.9999% of all golfers.

    • The first bit of 6.3 says teeing area rules apply when: The player is starting play of the hole (see Rule 6.1), The player will play again from the teeing area under a Rule (see Rule 14.6), or The player’s ball is in play in the teeing area after a stroke or after the player has taken relief. So yes, if you take Unplayable Relief in the Teeing Area, you can then move it or tee it up.  Note that for Back on the Line penalty relief, for Unplayable or Penalty Area, the relief area may be any area of the course.  For free relief, you must usually end up in the same area of the course as your ball was previously, That means you can't take relief from a sprinkler head for a ball in the General Area and drop in the Teeing Area.
    • Pulling for Spaun or Hovland
    • Backswing: Finally getting the swing shorter. Right elbow is a tad too bent, but at least it’s not overly bent and behind me. Basically, my previous posts on just feeling more lateral shift right, internal hip rotation. This time I added in a large amount of feeling grip pressure peaking at A2. Just holding that grip pressure constant in transition. It’s added a bit of sensory feedback for where my hands are at and it control the club a bitter more.  Downswing: Making the swing this short has messed up my timing with my downswing stuff. The swing feels like 50% shorter in duration. I got to retrain pausing a bit and my downswing stuff.  On the positive. This is 3-4 range sessions in a row where the swing has been consistently shorter.
    • At least the scores are pretty close …otherwise..gotta be one of the most un-noteworthy leaderboards on day two in recent US OPEN history …🫩
    • Agreed, the way the rule reads is, "If the player’s ball in play is in the teeing area after A stroke."  It states A stroke, not the FIRST stroke on that hole. It specifies this applies to missing the ball and a drive that does not leave that teeing area but does not make a provision for any other stroke. The rules however define the teeing area as "The area the player must play from in starting the hole they are playing." and further states that "All other teeing locations on the course (whether on the same hole or any other hole) are part of the general area." The way I read it is if your ball comes to rest on the tee box you started the hole from you can re-tee it, but not from another tee box on that hole or another hole. An interesting way I think someone could use this rule is if they topped a drive then topped a fairway wood, and had let's say 300 in from a terrible lie, not confident they can get a fairway wood in the air. If the tee box is back on the line for an unplayable drop, they could drop in the tee box and re-tee. Super specific instance, and am not sure if the rule applies after a drop and not a stroke...
