Poll question: "Who will have the longest drive on the 16th hole, Els, Simpson or Watson?" What kind of dumb f'n question is this. I wish you could shut the poll questions off, it is too much.

"My ball is on top of a rock in the hazard, do I get some sort of relief?"

Me too, especially since I'm the only one who had him as one of the picks in the prediction contest. I could really use that ltd. ed. AMP driver to go with my irons .

I liked Daly until I watched his reality show.  He has got to be the biggest whiner ever.  I thought he was moody, rude to his girlfriend, and entitled.  Sometimes it is better to think you know what someone is like, than to find out you're wrong.

Having said that, I would like to see him in contention on Sunday.  It is a good story, and when it comes to golf, I only care about the golf.

Tiger's making a nice move up the leaderboard this morning; he's now up to T8. Can't wait to see what happens when he actually tees off.

If he does, he will be leading the tournament most likely.  A lot of other players are over par.  They say this is one of the toughest courses in the US when the wind is blowing.

Do you know if he will be a featured group on pga.com?  Never mind, looks like they will be.  Bubba Watson and company were the marquee group for the early tee times.

What the heck happened on Tiger's drive on #2?  How far did he actually drive it?  He nearly hit people that were crossing the fairway on a natural crosswalk area! lol

Edit: So it was 341 yards.  Into a crosswind?

Right to left helping.  Still, it was the bomb-diggity.

Too bad he hit that gap wedge almost as far on the third.

I know that.. but why.. and does it really make a difference.. they are playing in sand.. and yes it is a little different sand, but it is still sand..

-  I like watching these marque groups because there is less talking a you get to see every shot, good, bad and ugly.

-  If that damn survey banner pops over one more time ...

-  If Michael Breed does one more analysis on that screen ...

-  Keegan Bradley is the twitchiest golfer ever.  If they take away his anchoring he might lose his tour card.  He also has a very specific pre-shot routine:

1.  Line up behind the ball, tilt head to one side and stare for 15 seconds.

2.  Step next to the ball and take 4 crouching little mini pitch-like practice swings.

3.  Step back behind the ball, take 2 steps forward, one step back, then one step forward, now two steps back (now swing your partner round and round and dosey doe)

4.  Walk up to address the ball, when 2 steps away go back and line up behind the ball.

5.  Un-velcro and re-velcro glove exactly 6 times.

6.  Repeat steps 3 and 4.

7.  Address the ball and take 6 mini waggles.

8.  Swing away!

Very simple and effect routine, but if he only velcros his glove 5 times he has to start over.

Talk about slow play.. holy crap I couldn't play with that guy.. he is OCD...

    • Day 10 (10 Jun 26) - Played in the midweek shootout at my home course - on aerated and sanded greens - day of trying to figure tempo to get the best roll on the greens.  Approach game was decently solid as was shots off the tee.
    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
