slodsm, you missed out on a helluva deal, for sure.  I picked up a pair via the original sale posted in this thread (thanks to the OP!!), and they are very nice.  I like them more, and more every day that I wear them.

If you are seriously considering a pair of True shoes, you may want to check Ebay.  Before I purchased them via the sale, out of curiosity, I was looking at Ebay for the going rate... And you can find new True's with sub $100 prices pretty easily.  So if you decide you want to pull the trigger, maybe check out one of the reputable sellers on Ebay?  It could save you $50 to $60 - perhaps more?

As I mentioned, I really like the True Tours and very happy I picked them up.... In case you were curious... Here's the pair I purchased directly from True.

For those looking for a really good deal on the 2012 TRUE tours you can find it at RockBottomGolf.com

http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/true-linkswear-2012-true-tour-golf-shoes.html

There is a wide array of colors and sizes available and they are $69... that's hard to beat.

So you know, they have one color combo listed as White/Blue/Buff and from a picture I saw elsewhere of them (no pick of them on the RBG site), the look like the LTE for last years US Open (meaning they are a 2011 version). All the others are the 2012 line up.

Also, TRUE did just release the sensei shoe and they are $99, which is really good.

I found the 2012 Tours more comfortable out of the box than the 2011 Tours - and no orthotic was needed in the 2012 version.

What's the arch support like in these shoes?  I ask only because you mentioned orthotics.  I have developed really bad feet over the last couple years and if there is no support in the arch area I'm in a world of pain in no time.

You might have "developed" really bad feet because the support in modern shoes have allowed your muscles to weaken.

More here: http://thesandtrap.com/t/55204/true-shoes-barefoot-and-more/

TRUEs are (gloriously) "minimalist" shoes. They're flexible, have zero heel drop, and let your feet work as they've evolved to work, the marvels of engineering that they are.

Hi - I was out of town and returned last night.

I have high arches and haven't had issues with the 2012 True Tours in stock format. They are extremely comfortable on and off the course. FWIW, I put on the shoes this morning, and then took out the standard orthotic they have in the shoe, and ran my hand along the inside of the shoe. The design of the shoe seems to slope downwards after the instep and towards the toe area, which would render natural support to the arch.  I do not need an aftermarket orthotic in the 2012 True Tour.

The shoe will not support a thick orthotic, and I did use a thin orthotic in the 2011 version of the True Tour shoe - I use these when needed in my shoes:

For golf or other athletic shoes, I use a thin orthotic when needed. These are warmed in an oven at home and conform to your foot. I've used them for at least 4 years.

Thanks for the info.  With what you've said and some stuff I read in the links that Erik posted, I'll order a pair and see what happens.

Good luck!

And to edit, I ran my hand along the inside of the shoe... lol.

If your feet are weak, take your time and break yourself in slowly. You'll be building muscles in your feet. Do you walk around barefoot in your house often or anything?

Rarely barefoot but sometimes slippers.  Not sure what triggers the pain, some days I'm pain free and others it feels like someone went to work on the bottoms of my feet with a heavy piece of re-bar.

I did order the shoes, $70 at Rockbottom Golf.  If they work, that's a pretty cheap fix.

Do you ice your feet when they are sore?  Easy trick is to freeze water in a plastic bottle.  Roll the areas that are painful on the bottle for five minutes.

For what it is worth, I have very high arches and have no issue with the True shoes.  My feet feel great after a round and better than any other shoe I have tried.

Lastly, I hope you are a Brian Setzer fan StrayCat!

Typically, no.  I do use a foot roller once in a while and it has helped a little.  The ice bottle trick sounds like a good idea and I will try that, thanks.

True just launched their 2013 line... I'm really interested in getting a pair of True Sensi shoes.  Tristan and Erik, how are yours holding up?  Do you guys like them better than the True Tours?  Please let me know.

I don't know that I'd say I like them better. They're a very different kind of shoe for a very different purpose.

I find myself wearing the Sensei more around town. The Tours are a little more "golfy."

They're all GREAT.
