No Rollout with Driver

Looking for advice on rollout with driver. Hit my driver 250 - 285 depending ipon consistency for the day. I rarely get any roll when hitting driver. Drive the ball fairly straight, and usually end up with a plug or deep ball mark in the fairway. I play either Titleist Pro V1x or Bridgestone 330 RXS. Thoughts and advice welcome.

Play on firmer fairways.

If the ball is making plug marks, I don't know what to tell you... the fairways are too soft to get much roll.

The only other cause would be if your landing angle is too severe. That's unlikely to be the case, because even on a firm fairway those still won't leave big ball marks.

Yeah, it's amazing how firm tour fairways are, the bounces they get from drives can be almost 10 feet high. At Augusta they can bounce and roll 30 yards or more...

I tried to explain this concept to my father-in-law once. His average swing speed is 115 but he hits it 260 (when he's not blasting it OB left and right). He doesn't believe me when I tell him he can hit tour distances if he made center contact and played on firmer fairways. He's convinced tour pros have some kind of superpower or something to hit it as far as they do.

Thanks for the replies. I tght maybe it was the ball or my swing and too much spin on the ball.

Soft fairways kills driver distance. I've hit some really low drives, but all the courses are soft here, so there's no use. The lower I hit it, the shorter it will fly, and I'll end up with less distance. On a good drive, I can't expect a whole lot of roll. I have played on courses in Spain, where it was drier, and even my tall drives rolled out quite far. Just work on hitting the best drives you can and play with whatever fairway you got.

If you've got an adjustable driver maybe try adding loft for days when the course is wet. I know guys that play multiple drivers depending on the course conditions. If it's wet and soft you want as much launch as possible to max out carry.
