Hahaha no worries. This guy is really excited about the "Easy Swing."

I just have a hard time believing these balls would have flown 180 yards with a high trajectory. I have an even harder time believing that it "drifted down to the right with a powerful draw" (3:28). Especially because he is right handed. Anyway, I would encourage anyone who views this video to have a laugh and erase it from your memory immediately.

That's awesome, especially the moondance. BUT. Dougie has got the basics of the LPG swing down pretty well. Long thumb, planted rear foot, reach to the ball, separated hands, thick grip, wide stance, plus a few other good LPG things. There's a couple of things he doesn't do. Not enough front arm bend. I've noticed if I can get past 90 degrees and more the better. Plus keeping the back to the target for as long as possible.

Yup, he's the head pro at www.talegagolfclub.com where I do all my practice. One of my friends just started taking lessons from him so I'm gonna have to ask him how it's going.

I'm guilty as well. Just did further research into the link provided above. I don't really have anything to say about MGS. So, I will move on. I would encourage anyone who has some success with this method to please share. This thread seems to consist of a lot of speculation, good and bad.

I disagree. Even if you're exaggerating I disagree. You also continue to fail to recognize that in the "no wrist cock/hinge" MGS swing demonstrated by the man in the video, he cocks and hinges his wrists a LOT.

Sorry, I think we may be at crossed purposes, I'm pretty sure Mrs. Kanwar says some wrist cock is OK but not to make it extreme

And the guy on the video isn't a demonsrator, he's a guy who's been using the swing and is convinced that the important thing about MGS is the setup. So the video is about the setup. It's not about whether his wrist is cocked(which Mrs. Kanwar says is OK, just not too much) or not,  it's about, as the guy says in the video"the meat and potatoes" of the swing is in the setup

That's pretty much it.

So he swings one with no wrist cock, and about half a swing and gets 128 mph......then he swings a bit longer with a bit of wrist cock, again not too much ,and makes 140......good, this is still MGS as he says, .......then he has some full swings with full on lag, big shoulder turn etc etc and gets 150. Thats it.

Anyway, Iacas you say the only way to hit it out of my shadow is to use my wrists. Front 9 today my drives were 240 meters, 200(into the scrub!!), 260(drove to 15 meters of the front of the green) then 287 meters(wind assisted, good bounce).  So my front wrist in these swings is as firm as I can make it without losing the ability to hinge at the elbow.

      I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

      Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
