I'm excessive in most things that I do, and I think the look of this putter below is pure sex.

To each his own I guess ... I threw up in my mouth a bit when I saw this. :-P

Excited for you for the fitting though!!

Lol true. The face engraving would be purely cosmetic and wouldn't have any effect on my aim though? The neck piece is over the top and probably not needed.

You really won't see the face at setup. Some left-eye dominant people can a little, or those with the ball too far back in their stance.

Cool. I'm more excited for the actual fitting than going to Thursday night football or Niagara Falls now. Plus, if it takes 4-6 weeks, it should arrive around my birthday.

This happened to me too.  And then it got even better because after a few rounds of consistent improvement, the confidence skyrocketed because I "knew" I would make all of those putts and I started making even more.

Hopefully you have the same experience.  (I also am looking forward to the pics) :)

Yeah hopefully it continues. Unfortunately I injured my neck pretty good this weekend so I may have to wait a bit to use it again.

I'm with Erik though, I couldn't give a rats ass what it looks like and got mine with no real bells or whistles. I just want to putt better...I don't care what it looks like.

Mine still hasn't shipped. I haven't been able to get through to them on the phone, either.

Well, it took a little longer than I'd hoped, but the putter came today...

...and it's gorgeous:

My only (very minor) regret is that I didn't get the "Edel" letters on the front in a different color.  I had requested to leave them off entirely, but apparently that's something they do on all the putters...I probably would have gotten that part in black.  Easy enough to do myself.

It feels as fantastic as it looks.

The stock grip is perfect, too.  I just fit my Game Golf tag...because of the shaft weighting, the tag doesn't really fit in very far...I just clipped the screw part off, and used some adhesive silicone.

I've never been so excited to go practice putting!

Nice! You'll have to let us know what you think. I've been loving mine!

Quick way to fill in the EDEL is just use permanent marker, then very carefully wipe over EDEL with a small cloth or paper towel with some mineral spirits.

Both of those putters look great. I'm still contemplating a fitting, but between the cost and the length of time it takes to get the thing it's hard to pull the trigger. I'm very bad about being patient on getting stuff that I pay for. Pretty similar to the reason I haven't gotten fitted for the wedges as well. Though part of that is knowing that the wedges are something that will need to be replaced too. Look forward to hearing more about how well the new putters do on the course for you fellas.

The cost is the only thing you should worry about. Wait time was only 3 weeks for me...and it's not like you don't have a putter in the meantime. If anything, do it during the off-season so you don't care if it takes a while.

That's most likely when I'd do it for sure, but then I'll get it and not be able to use it. Lol, the conundrum!

You can get that thin outdoor carpet at home depot for like $5. Cutout a section and place it anywhere. Not ideal, but good enough to aim at a target and work on putting square to that target.

My Edel took essentially the longest it possibly could take, and I still received it before I got the credit card bill that had the payment on it. ;-)

It's not like you hand Erik an envelope of cash!

I got out to practice a bit today...I really like the heavier feel. I was on a bad artificial green, so I mostly focused on AimPoint reads, but I did some ladder drills for distance control and it seemed much better than it was with my previous putter. I think there is also a confidence factor in knowing that I am actually aiming where I think I am.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
