So how do I create a draw from this swing? I was hitting a little push fade.

Don't worry about it for now. Do this stuff all winter.

Amazing what a month can do. Great job @Jakester23, @mvmac, and @iacas!

QFT.

Keep at it Jake, draws are so overated anyway! ;-)

Ha ha yeah. I'm going to just work on my path for a while. It feels weird and at the range I'm having a little trouble aiming not hitting a pull

Check out the last video I did on my page where I had the alignment stick down pointed left to make sure my toe line was following that.  Pick a target on the range and force your toe line to be open to that with an alignment stick or something.

Yeah. I'm used to aiming left but I think I'd basically pull the ball a little left of that and the ball would fade back and end up a little right of my intended target.

So I went to the range today and I was hitting my irons pretty well. One thing I noticed I kept hitting big push fades with my driver.  I was wondering if I close the club face at address if that will help with my push?  Im happy with the push and the fade but Id like it to be a smaller shape. Right now it would be a tough one on a tight course ha ha.

The camera angle is not good, but you are not open to your target at all, you look closed to it.  I would start with that.

Jake, I didn't take a look at previous swings, but it look like there is a sway that appears to have crept in.. Just draw a line at your hips and take a look.. Also, I don't remember a flip in your swing, but there is a breakdown in the angle if you take a look at impact you will notice that it isn't lined up with your left shoulder. The path is looking really good and I think the other stuff will be a quick fix, it might just have crept in because of your concentration on the other piece! Nice job though overall, I'm liking the change!

Played 9 today at an easy par 35. I shot a 36 I lipped out a birdie putt on 9 that would have been for a even par 35. I hit 7 gir and had 18 putts. I didn't make any long putts but my lags were really good. I only had to work for my birdie on the one par 5 (made a 4 footer). It a 2800 yd course very playable but this was the first time I felt like I played it how I should. Here's a pic of the hardest hole it's a 135 yd par 3. I had to get a picture of my ball on the green. I've played the course hundreds of times and I've probably hit the green 15 times.

Nice score bud! I have not played there yet. The famous volcano hole! Haha.

So you're familiar with that hole ha. I've had a few 10's on that hole when I was younger. It's tough because long is ob essentially. Left I'd really steep (basically a flop shot) and right slopes so far away from the hole it's a weird shot. I've went back and forth over it a few times. The bunker short right is also tough cause it has a pretty high lip and if you blade it your long (ob).

Good playing @Jakester23

Thanks coach. You and Erik helped me a lot. The best part was I hit my last 6 full swing shots perfect. I walked for the first time in a while which I enjoyed. I think it helped me take my time on my shots . When I play by myself and take a cart I have a tendency to rush.

Great playing yesterday Jakester.  Three birdies on a very tough course is impressive.  The chip in with a hybrid was cool.   The birdie putt on 10(I think it was) was about as tough of an 8-10 foot putt as you can get and you dropped it.  I was very impressed with how your swing has come along and the way you chip and putt as well.  Keep up the great work and have fun with evolvr.

Thanks again for the invite I really appreciate it. That was a fun day and I'm really out of shape. Walking 18 wrecked me for today ha ha. We should try to get together at the range over fall and winter.

    • Thanks for the insight. This is not on my radar, and I am not sure it is something I need to worry about right now or if at all. I am a bit more concerned with swing length right now. Maybe tilt affects that, but most likely not to the degree in which I overswing 😉.
    • speed blades don't have a 3iron that I know of. My 4 is already 20* . I love it as it is super straight. I went to golf Galaxy to try some hybrids and 2 iron my numbers and spin were bouncing all over the place. wasn't hitting good that day. I did hit the 4 ping 430 hybrid 215yds a  couple of times but never got consistency anywhere. It was all me mis hitting that day.The GAPR is something to think about and would like to try one sometime. in the meantime I had a 16* Adams Gold pro hybrid I was using. I took it out, choked up on it to hit it like an iron and hit it 185 into the wind and 230 with wind at my back. I am gonna ride with this awhile and see what I got. Looks promising from 1st outing.
    • My home course is Stoneleigh GC in Round Hill VA.  The course would get murdered, from the back tees its only about 6800 yards, and there's really not room to stretch it out. There would effectively be no par-5s, and several of the par-4s would be reachable.  For contrast, local qualifying in my area is often held at Woodmont CC in Maryland, which played to over 7300 yards this year.  It took 134 (-8) to qualify for the US Open.
    • If you like Taylormade, they have produced GAPR clubs for several years now. They are not-quite-hybrids... but close. They come in Lo, Mid and Hi varieties which vary in how much they look like an iron. The Lo is almost a chunky iron. The Hi looks very hybrid-esque. The Mid is somewhere in between.  Since they've made them for a while now and come out with new variations on them every year, you can probably get a slightly used one at a pretty good deal. They change the color and tweak them here and there, but they aren't that much different. If money is no object go get fitted for one that gets you your 200 yards consistently.  If the GAPR doesn't work for you Taylormade UDI and DHY might be more your cup of tea. These are slightly more iron-y than the GAPR's.  Incidentally Ping also makes a similar product theirs is called a crossover.  Basically, all the big brands have something like this. Just search out Utility Irons and you should get plenty of options.
