Combining a couple different feels that Brian at Evolvr told me to work on, and I think it's working as far as the head dipping down and toward the ball on the backswing is concerned. There are obviously other issues still (even my very untrained eye can see some), but I'm not concerned about those right now...just working on one thing at a time. Once I have it down, it's on to the next.

Here are a couple vids from today. I know I'm bombarding this thread, but I'm now treating it as my own personal golf diary. :-P

@iacas , I'm not actively rotating the hips earlier or trying to stick my ass toward the target line, but it seems like it's happening anyway (good thing I guess)...it feels like bringing my hands in more on my takeaway is contributing to it.

EDIT: Oops...cut a second off of the 2nd vid on accident and deleted the original.

Looking at the picture, this is definitely the steadiest my head has ever been. Feel like I'm heading back in the right direction...

That's the point of the thread. Good job.

I didn't think it would take you a long time to get it. Looks good.

Looking good dude

Thanks Mike! Never-ending process (as you well know)...but as long as I'm moving in the right direction.

Glad to finally be on Evolvr so I know I'm working on the right things.

Well, frustrating round with @Jeremie Boop and @Carl Spackler tonight. But I wasn't really playing for a score...just trying to stick with the stuff I've been working on.

Positives: No chunked or topped full shots (half wedges...different story), lot of good shots, good company and weather.

Negatives: Erratic Drives, abysmal putting, pushed half my shots.

Shot of the day was on 18...

Popped/pulled a drive left about 210 yards on a par 5. Right in the left edge of the sand. I'm standing in the rough, foot below my feet...no line of sight to the pin, trees in my way. I grab my hybrid and aim left of the trees in an attempt to fade it toward the green. I hit it flush on a perfect line and it fades right around the trees leaving me about 80 yards to the pin.

It was a hell of a shot in the dark. Literally. ;-)

Haha, yeah it was getting hard to see then...but I knew it was good when I hit it.

What's funny is, I'm so comfortable hitting that shot, that the ball being in the sand and below my feet didn't even bother me

Terrible practice day. Hit and filmed probably 50 shots...seems like I'm regressing. Hit one so bad that missed the net completely. I hope it's just because I'm tired and have been on the road for a couple of days.

Probably gonna take tomorrow off...back is a little tight.

Feeling good today, so practice as usual.

Better than yesterday, but I'm still all over the place. I seem to have to focus on getting my weight forward again...which sucks since I thought I had gotten that piece down to muscle memory, but adding in a new part...I'm losing it.

The backswing feels so incredibly weird (feels waaay different than it looks on the DTL view)...and pushes the boundaries of my flexibility...but it seems to be doing what Brian thought it would do...which is good.

I feel like my head shouldn't be moving away from the ball at contact like it is...but I'm not trying to fix it until told otherwise.

Good practice today. Really making progress on keeping my head up and back on my backswing...hitting everything solid into the net today.

Think I'm about ready to re-upload to Evolvr for round 2.

With the new swing, I'm struggling to get my weight forward as much as I had been. Not sure if this is an issue, but I'm sure they'll let me know.

Mind your camera angles. Re-shoot those and then upload them. Down the toe line, please. :)

I don't know why I always do that. I think Matt or Cipher has given me crap for it before, but I always do it anyway. Just the DTL vid, correct?

Any other advice before upload?

Yup.

Share what they say in this thread then. I know where they're going next… Let me know when you submit it.

P.S. This isn't as good as some of the earlier ones. You were standing a bit taller, arms weren't hanging down "inside" vertical, shoulder wasn't working down quite as much.

I agree.

It's submitted. I'll post an update when I get it back.

Got my Evolvr back. Biggest issue now is my setup, and my hip rotation. Bending down to much, and my head is leaning forward...which would explain why I couldn't get my weight shifted forward anymore.

Forcing myself to stand up straighter...proving to be more difficult than I anticipated. Trying to not exaggerate the hip rotation, but that's also proving difficult.

Right is before, Left is today.

Slight grip adjustment (per Erik/Brian) seems to be helping to prevent the club from flopping at the top of my backswing.

Question to Erik, Mike, anyone more knowledgeable than me...

I was told to slow my hip rotation down...my attempt to do so is in the video directly above this...but I'm not sure if that speed is what I should be aiming for. Any thoughts? If it's still too fast, anything I can focus on to slow it down without delaying the start of the rotation?

Just watched the Evolvr video and agree with what Brian said.

The set-up adjustment with where the butt of the club points will help. You have it too low and this gets the weight more towards your heels. If you raise it, you won't be bent over as much and the weight will be more even in your feet. Weight being in your heels can do some weird things with the pivot.

To keep it simple, as the hips turn, the pressure will gradually move to your right heel. If you're already balancing on your heels, the knees can change, or appear to change flex at too fast a rate, what you see here:

Shouldn't be able to see that "space" between your knees at this point of the swing

So two things you can do

1. Set up with the handle higher, weight balanced. Might even feel slightly biased towards the toes.

2. If #1 doesn't do much, then add this. Feel like you don't change the amount the right knee decreases in flex on the takeaway and/or feel like the pressure in the right foot stay more in the middle of the foot longer on the backswing.
