Question for the instructors and anyone else - P8 - is the face here a tad closed or neutral?

Just curious. It looks a little closed, no? It's a 219 yard par 3 - so medium - long iron.

I am not instructor, but I would fall under the "anyone else" category.  As such, take my statment for what its worth.  To me it appears a bit closed.

Wait....Maybe he is rolling the toe over to help dial in the draw???

Yes, closed.

But quite common as well.

Maybe a tad bit shut? I'm not exactly positive, though. I'm not a 100% sure on the proper face angle at that point in the downswing.

My 2 cents. Yes, the face looks a little closed but this can be very deceptive. From this angle and at this point in the swing it definitely looks like he was trying to save this one with his hands. So the amount the face is closed at this point really doesn't matter, the ball is long gone.

I think you should make this a poll. Easier for everyone to give their input. Sadly I think the face is sort of blurry so hard for me to tell for sure.

Can I ask why you ask?

Sure. Bet with a friend. He thinks it is neutral. I think it's closed. But it really doesn't matter because ball is long gone right? And impact face direction what is important, I realize that. But for the sake of a bet, and I want a free lunch. :-)

Tell him it's closed and that violently rotating your hands through impact is a great way to draw the ball. That way you can win lots and lots of free lunches from him.

IMO, neutral would be parallel to the angle of inclination(some call it spine angle).

And to hit it further, move your head over your right foot and keep your right knee flexed

It's certainly not neutral.  Assuming neutral means matching the golfer's inclination to toe up.  Looks to me like the face is pointing towards the ground.

Yep, like a steel bar. Now maintain that tension all the way through the swing, keep at it, you'll get it. ;-)

Looks like he is trying to hit a pull draw, by the looks of his stance being well right of the flag and the ball starts just left of his stance.
