If it's true, then you are probably the first person ever to claim a legitimate 8 handicap with only 20 rounds played.  Call me skeptical.

I will probably never be a better golfer. My swing is accurate in its own right but is not remotely correct. Because of this I must play bump and run to the best of my abilities. That is I hit straight but no wrist involved. I hit with my back and arms ( tennis player ya know) . Remember also all the hours spent as a lonely kid doing nothing but hitting golf balls out on the farm. LOTS OF HOURS!! I played entire four day tournaments in my head with the cup being either the base of a tree or the corner of the barn or chicken house. I truly did put in the work. At first I was a bit peeved with you. Then just a bit disappointed. But I sincerely appreciate your last response and believe we can be friends on this forum. I think you have a lot of golf knowledge in that noggin of yours and I would greatly appreciate being the recipient of some of it if you could see it in your heart to share with a lucky hack. You can call yourself skeptical. That is quite normal. But I from this point I will only call you Friend. ---Matt
Call me jealous. :-P
When you grow up in the middle of nowhere and only have your siblings golf clubs and a rifle you learn how to hit the ball and shoot the center out of a target! Here is where some of you might lose me....I believe that in some circumstances that one must hunt for survival. My people always thanked the animal taken for giving its life. I however need not hunt. Even spiders are politely escorted out of my home and placed safely outside. Yeah I know I'm strange. Lol. I have two rescue dogs a rescue hamster rescue mouse and two rescue rats. Have had a rescue Opossum that was a host on a children's nature show in Atlanta in the 80s. Yes I am married and not the Wierd Lonely Animal Guy down the street that no one goes to on Halloween. LOL. Our kids were taught to respect nature. I am Cherokee. My firearms are only used for competition so please don't freak out over the mention of a rifle. Thanks. Mitakuye. ---Matt

I have no idea. Did you want to know what your native name is? Just kidding. Could not pass that one up. Forgive me please. LOL

David Fourputt has shown me integrity and respect as well as he could express and I thank and respect him as well. I do not reject his opinion of skepticism. Please follow his lead so that we may all be friends and help one another to be better people and better golfers. He is now being helpful to me. I could use your help as well. Sincerely ---Matt

David You probably know this. Wido is Cherokee for Thank You. Are you by chance Seminole? I lived in S. Florida while a tennis player. I was asked often what tribe I belonged to. Back then I was 60 pounds lighter and looked Native! lol

I am Cherokee.

By your bitter responses I would concur that you may well be high. I have been high a great deal in the past but I have never acted like you towards another person even if I did not agree with them on a given subject matter. You are indeed a disappointment. Forgive me. I can no longer waste my time on you. Be happy. Be safe. I wish you the best. ---Matt

Bitter? That's a bit if an overstatement. I only asked why, if you are Cherokee, you speak Lakota. Then I noticed your comment about having been mistaken (?) for native in the past which confused me a little because I thought you were native. Maybe it was a typo or simply misstated. Maybe you're making stuff up. I don't know, just asking. I'll drop the line of inquiry because it doesn't really matter. Nvwadohiyadv :-)

ROFL -  Yeah, it sure doesn't have anything to do with goose poop.

Despite it's rather disgusting nature, goose do-do is still just a loose impediment (sometimes very loose :bugout: ).  If it gets on the ball, then the ball may still only be cleaned when it is allowed under the rules.  No special considerations for what is a naturally occurring condition on the course.

A lot of geese tend to winter in the Denver area, and naturally they gravitate to the golf courses.  The poop situation can get fairly extreme by late winter, so my home course will actually break out the mowers and run them on the fairways to chop up the dried feces.  They use plastic bladed snow shovels to de-poop the greens every morning through the winter if the course is open for play.

    • I am considering replacing my 2013 9.5 degree stiff shaft Cobra Ampcell S driver. I think my swing speed of mid 90's might benefit from a softer shaft and more loft. I do not want to spend a lot on a new club or even a top end used club like Ping G430. I know the right answer is get on a launch monitor and see what works for me. But, being in South Africa, there is a miniscule used club market and all I can find will have to be mailed from another town. I would be grateful for views on the following options that are cheap and I like the look of: Ping Rapture V2 10.5 degrees regular TFC 939 shaft, Ping Anser 9.5 degrees regular and Ping G20 10.5 degrees Alta 55g regular.

    • I am marshalling at the Truist this week. Philadelphia Cricket is a great old Tillinghast track. It only tops out at around 7,100 yards so these guys might tear it up but it shouldn't take away from how good it is. Unfortunately, because of spectator restrictions around the 18th green, they aren't playing the traditional routing. The 18th hole will play as the 11th hole.
    • I am marshaling at the Truist this week at Philly Cricket. During the practice round yesterday, I was at the 5th tee when Justin Rose came by and I asked, are you going to keep your Philly streak going? He looked at me and paused for a second and then laughed and said, that would be nice. He's won at Aronimink and Merion. It would be a nice trifecta.
